Looks like one of our traders does not take care of our cars when test driving!
it's the poor people who still have cars there to be worked on etc i feel for if i was a customer with a car there at whatever stage of finish it would be removed from their premises. really how does a person now aproach this if their car is still being worked on by scoobyclinic i would have some concerns over their working attitude after this if you had a concern over something wrong with the car. would that person get the same level of bullcrap that this guy got. ??????
Maybe Kev and indeed other garage owners should invest in their own dash cams which should be installed into a car during every test drive and make the footage available to owners should they request it. I'm sure that test drives of this sort would be extinct and be a definite selling point of choosing a particular garage to do some work
For the record, I was always happy with the work I had done at SC and I dare say that I would use them again should I ever dip my toes back into a Scoob.
If Kev has any sense, then I would expect him to have already addressed the treatment of this car with his workforce and has spelt out the consequences of any future incidents of the same nature. Although I doubt they will come close to folding over this you like to think that everyone involved with SC is running scared of loosing their livings and works their ***** off to bring back the (for the most part) good reputation.

are you on medication or something
the car owner has just to roll over and do nothing am i right in thinking you could be or are a employee of scoobyclinic if it comes to light that you are then lets just say you are adding more to the fire as being another untrustworthy one of the clan.

In the next post you say you have customers! I seriously hope you're not one of the guys that works on these cars. That lack of basic knowledge of how an lsd actually works is not excusable if you consider yourself a professional.
(If you're an office guy or something, then sorry, but you're making out to sound like you know what you're doing here)
In the same way that running hard against the synchromesh without having the clutch in won't break the gearbox.

To get some money out of the company would surely mean that all he has to do is his job - now that he has supposedly left his job, he won't be getting any money from the company and instead will be taking it off the taxpayer in the form of jobseekers!
Go back to smoking whatever it is you're smoking - must be great in cloud cuckoo land

So we have the original incident, which the guys tried to delete the evidence from on the Dashcam. The audio seems to indicate this was a fairly normal drive since the passenger is not in the slightest surprised at how the test drive is going.
Then the guy gets fobbed off by the manager after showing the footage.
Then intimidated by the staff.
Then threatened with legal action if he releases the footage.
Asks for advice on an anonymous garage, requesting people that guess don't post the name.
Then gets slandered by the garage owner online in public.
Once the footage is released the garage owner denies the facts seen on video and further slanders the customer.
I'd say the guy that quit had the right idea, time to get a new job and abandon that sinking ship. It's probably been 10 years since I last used this forum but this was a worthwhile read, good to see justice done.

Earlier in the thread they used a group n rally car being able to deal with a jump as a reason why a road car could use brake rollers. Then emphasised the s standing for slip in limited slip to further the point of it being ok. That's a dangerous level of misunderstanding the fundamentals, it doesn't have to explode for damage to be done.
There are ways to avoid damage to the diff on brake rollers, but if they're aware of those then they shouldn't be posting such nonsense.
Anyway, completely off topic, I'm done. Will be back next time there's a good scandal to read.

Well, well, well. Just sat here at work and worked my way through this entire thread. I'm not a customer of SC and now never intend to be. But after seeing that footage, I'm not surprised that many people are disgusted by the test-drivers actions. Horrible way to treat a car that isn't your own!
My car gets looked after by RCM. I wouldn't use anybody else. I find Olly, Matt and Dave to be extremely helpful, understanding and patient. Olly takes the car out once all the work has been done and I always go with him, to which he doesn't have a problem. After all, he drives the Gobstopper cars so knows how to drive a normal fast road Classic. Yes, the infamous 'RCM tax' springs it's ugly head every now and again, but I always drive off fully confident that all the problems with the car (not that there is ever many to begin with) have been fixed to the best possible standard.
After all, peace of mind and trust is very important to me. I feel sorry for the OP in this case but looks like he's been proved right. As for SC, it's a pretty shameful way of dealing with this incident.

It's so funny the amount of new people that are posting on this. Coincidentally they all have a 1-5 post count, have registered in January 2016 and are from locations such as Derby, cesterfield and Alferton. All of which are very local to the garage in question. Haha.
They all seem to be moaning about the other poor employees etc, calling the OP and saying they will always use the garage asvtheyvarevthe best thing since sliced bread etc etc.
I smell a rat!

Thing about forums is most people come on when they have some sort of problem to either get a solution or have a moan about a garage, you don't tend to get so many posts saying what a great reliable car my car is or what a cracking job xyz garage did of changing my oil.
SC have been in business for over 20yrs, they must be doing something right.
Hard to say what has not already been covered, anyone who feels they can trust a company that treats your pride and joy in this manner has more money than sense or cant be bothered to drive more than 20 mins to a garage, a specialist recognised trader in subaru's has broken a bond of trust between its foundation origins and its database of customers which is you guys, handled badly from start to finish and whatever fallout comes from all this negative press for SC they brought on themselves.
Or they could just be people that have actually used the place and had good service.

links like these below only show how disgusted people are with SC and their unproffesional staff and management attitude

He was/is a long serving mechanic 15 years at the scoobyclinic so more than likely other cars have been mistreated in the same way for many years?
And all the bad speculation is partly down to the owners response and attitude towards Ben.

Don't know, never used them.
Thing is even on a thread this big with 23 pages, we have like half a dozen haters, loads of speculation and the rest shocked at the treatment of the car.
There's something like 15 blokes that more or less have been kept in a job for something like 20yrs all presumably getting at least a grand a month wages and some probably considerably more (decent mechanic must be on around £20/25k) just to pay the wage bill every month must equal a huge amount of work let alone to keep paying it for 20yrs.
There's no way they'd be who they are and where they are if it wasn't for how good they are.
I think some people need to just stop and think about it for a moment, who's going to fix all the bodges that happen up north and elsewhere from all these fly by night facebook tuners if these lads go out of business.
What turbo's will all the medium power guys be fitting, who's going to fix your syvecs if there's a problem or give you tech support, where you going to go for a health check on a rolling road.
To some geezer with a tube of silicone by the sounds of it, good luck with that.
One person screwed up, he's lost his job, lets get some perspective here.
