Very tempting at that price, by the way what was wrong with your Cavalier, you didn't buy the later model with the ecotec engine did you?

Nothing was actually wrong with it was a good family car, it was a 2.0 GLS hatchback, it had a couple of mechanical issues whilst I owned it but nothing that bad just I look back and think what a dull car compared to what I moved onto and dealers at the time were terrible.

Use to drive my dads 2.0 8v GL thought it was great. He also had the SRI never drove that.

I like how the corsa lease offers, Road Fund Licence paid for the duration of your lease
AA Roadside Assistance provided for the duration of your lease

Yeah that's not a great deal with the up front deposit no wonder all the orders have tailed off.

Here:

http://www.gateway2lease.com/z_audi_...p#.VjVHsoZFBpU

Obviously more expensive but then its a hell of a lot more car than the Corsa!

Roughly the same deals that had been on offer for the Golf R earlier in the year.

Used to have a 57 plate Astra VXR in the bright arden blue colour with black 19" wheel. It was absolutely stunning and turned heads everywhere. People say though that if you drovd the Astra VXR, you'd never want to drive the Corsa VXR. Still, yours looks great and I can imagine you can have some silly fun in that .

Cheers I've done 600 miles in the first week can't keep out of it I'd love a go in the latest Astra VXR I think they look superb but as you say it would ruin driving the Corsa.

Careful you only got another 4400miles left for this year

Been speaking to Danielle from Aston Vauxhall, she has been helping trying to get a good deal on the VXR, been quoted decent(still not as good as yours though) on a Blue VXR with the 18s etc, so we will see what happens!!!

Good luck with it I found them to be very helpful. I called them today to check to see if I could change the lease to a purchase but as I'd guessed it's not possible to do as the lease is a contract. However I was told that I will be offered the car to buy at the end of the lease and whilst the extra mileage will cost me it will bring the price of the car down the more miles I put on it. So it could be the ppm cost I end up with will benefit me if I decide to buy the car off them.

And yes the 600 miles already is a shocker but I can't stay out the bloody thing it's that good, my other car is a Pathfinder and I only use that now for the dogs and kids.

I was told that if I order a metallic colour it would be cheaper as its easier to sell after the lease deal.

Did you take out GAP insurance??? I strongly recommend this, as when I had my Golf R stolen I was worried that I would have to carry on paying the finance payments if the insurance decided to not pay out or really under valued the car, at least GAP insurance would cover you for anything like that in case the worst scenario of crashing/getting it stolen.

Haven't told the missus yet, so I might be sleeping in the thing when it arrives

They said they would check if they have the spec I ordered already in stock first, Got a decent deal it started off with £608 down and £202 a month, but Danielle at Aston managed to get it for £180 down and £180 a month which I can live with!!

That's only £10 a month more than the original deal so that's great. If they have it in stock you are laughing!

So gave them my details to do finance and checks etc which come back OK and they can give me finance on the car etc, trouble is they have now come back saying that the deal has now changed to £198 deposit and £198 a month!!So told them I'm not interested in the car now, so they have said they will go back and try and get it down again!!!

Problem is the price has changed 3 times, it started off expensive and I was not interested so the price come down which made it a very cheap/good deal and I was interested, and now its gone up again and kind of puts me off the deal altogether.

I can only do 5k miles a year and the contract is for 3 years. With Vauxhall 0% APR on new cars Id be better off buying one as the monthly payments would not be that much extra a month, ok I would have to put down a bigger deposit, but I dont really want to be buying this VXR, I only wanted to lease it as it was cheap monthly payments for a new car that I didnt have the headaches of selling it when the 3 years are up, I can give it back and lose no money on it.

See what happens, as ive kind of giving up on the idea now!!

Ordered it today, got the old deal that they originally promised, paid the £500 refundable deposit, and they have one in stock so should get it in the next 2 weeks.

The exhaust definitely starts sounding better after about 500 miles and love the sound of mine now but no pops and crackles but then i've not been backing off and allowing engine braking

Got one for the missus a few weeks ago in blue, we got the partner deal too - but upped the mileage to 8k p/year.

Still, with no deposit and our previous 1.2 Corsa being worth more than what we owed on it (thanks to the 0% finance we took on it 3 years ago) - we ended up with a brand new car and best part of a grand in my pocket

Really impressed with the Corsa, it drives great.

I'd have a look at the Fiesta Eco boost as well if I were you, had one as a rental for a week, seriously tempted at less than £100 a month, decent little motor with a reasonable turn of speed and still managed 33mpg caning the crap out of it.

As runabouts go it's got a lot going for it, it wasn't an ST or VXR not even sure what it was tbh, presumably 1.2 turbo maybe 120/140 bhp needed reving a bit to get it going but it was fun and big enough for 4 adults to travel in relative comfort, took it to London and back with two 17yr olds and an 8yr old in the back, no complaints, much roomier than you'd think.
