Ill have a look tomorrow but if not then ill get a set on order.
My cars only covered 39k so im not really wanting to fit an old box and rear diff out of something i know no history of.
To get my diffs removed and replaced is a few £k.
Ill get the clutch replaced and go from there, i have no plans to sell the car so that bit could always be a future plan.
Ive phoned him today mate, ordered a set of plugs from ECP.
Ive also spoken to Simon @ Chevron hes said about replacing the fuel pump with a Walbro ITP154 fuel pump, new fuel filter and a BMC or a K&N panel filter.
Simon also said about fitting the 3" Hayward & Scott system?
I have been following you thread and have been looking forward to seeing photos of your car in the UK.
Your Spec C is in really good condition with some really nice tuning parts fitted.
I would recommend that you remove your brake pads and give them and the Calipers a good clean, and refit the brake pads with Copper Grease.
You can inspect the brake discs at the same time.
If this does not get rid of the squeaking noise you will have to replace the brake pads. I would recommend that you give AS Performance a ring for your new brake pads.
There is no easy fix for your Clutch and Diff issue.
You will have to remove the gearbox and fit a new Clutch. I would recommend a Exedy Pink Box Clutch and sell your old Clutch.
With your Gearbox removed from the car you will have to remove your Plated Diff and refit the factory Diff, this also goes for your Rear Diff.
Or you could buy a second hand Gearbox and Rear Diff from one of the breakers and fit them to your car, and sell your old Gearbox and Rear Diff.

If i try and launch the car hard then it just bogs down, the diffs are noisy.
Ive got it booked in on Friday at Slow boy.

I've got the same plated diffs in my 2002 52 plate blob spec c track car they were in it when I bought it. The car does not like going around corners at all a specially at speed! In the process of having a new clutch fitted and while its out I'm sorting the front diff out. It's been a big hinderence to be honest.

Oh well that's good to know im not alone mate.
How are you going about fitting a diff? Who's doing the work?

I was talking to Simon this afternoon, seems like a great bloke.
Answered all of my questions i had, i had a few lol
Im going for the AP clutch kit after i get it mapped, going to order the bits i need for that tomorrow.
I dont know who to use for the mapping, seems to be a mine field.

Ill look at getting it painted over the winter, its not bad but i know its there.
Im going to give it a polish with my DA and see how it comes up.
Ive ordered a Hayward & Scott De-cat, NGK PFR7B plugs, heat wrap for the De-cat, fuel filter and a K&N panel filter
Im also replacing the pads with Performance Friction pads.
Im off for the next 11 days bud.

Big thread bump, sorry ive not been keeping this up dated, alot has happened to the car in the last 18 months or so.
First of all i got rid of the rubbish clutch set up and had Rich @ FB Tuning fit me a ACT clutch and flywheel kit.

With the underside completed i wanted more power but i wanted to keep the standard turbo set up, no FMI was going onto my car.
So the turbo was removed and sent away to be billeted, i ended up having the larger 50mm compressor wheel with the matched housing, it went from a 6 blade wheel to an 11.

what kind of restoration methot did you use on rear suspension, gearbox mount etc? powder coating or something else?
i found other photos but i didn't see if you use powdercoating or something else?
what kind of coating did you use for bolts and other parts? zinc or cadmium?
details are perfect

The nuts and bolts I blasted in a little blasting cabinet then sent them away to be zinc plated.

Love what your doing with the car, true dedication, at, I'd imagine not an inconsiderable cost.
I'm currently looking to get another Impreza, this time in the shape of a Bug, either a S202 or a recently imported STi 7.
Do you feel that modifying Ltd editions cars, such as yours and the S202 has a negative effect on the value?
From what I found, admittedly, having only looked for the past few days, is that completely standard cars command a premium over modified ones, I'd imagine the restoration work you have done would further add to it's value but the modifications not so much.
I'm thinking a very clean recent import STi 7 would be a better car to modify as it does not fetch anywhere near the purchase price of a S202, I could then tinker without worrying about reducing it's value.

The car to me is a hobby and also something rare and nice to own, in saying that i think that ive brought my car up to a fantastic standard and to me as long as i keep it looking standard (im trying to buy the original wheels) then that's good enough.
OEM with a twist, but i would never fit a boot spoiler, front fog lights or a front mount IC so that's why i stuck to the standard turbo but just had it billeted.
If you buy a totally factory standard car then it would have to have low miles and been kept in a garage and not used, now where is the fun in that?
I think if someone wanted a nice Bugeye RA Spec C then im sure my car would be the one.
Good luck and if it was me then a nice S202 would be on my list, if you end up buying a standard one then keep it that way, if its not then i would only have one with light mods but it would have to still look like a standard car.

Sorry, it wasn't until after I'd posted that I realised you bought the car in not quite standard trim.

With regards to my turbo, the Spec C has a roller bearing VF34. Ive gone from a 46mm compressor wheel to a 50mm wheel which has 11 blades with the matching housing
My car was mapped by Rich @ FBTuning and was road mapped, i think Rich said that i should have around 380 hp with 360 ft lbs of torque and im running 1.55 bar of boost.
