This is why I said in a previous post that the op shouldn't start shouting about court on a open forum that the trader in question comes on too while they still have his car.

The op should of waited at least one more day but more if nessasery and got the car back to.... a) see IF the car had been put right and given it its best chance to be put right, I doubt legal action all over the net made them rush to the tool box or.... b) at least if you had the car back you had evidence of a faulty car if that was the case and they didn't have your property in there hands.

In your situation I'd be picking the car up and taking it right away for an engineers report. That would strengthen any court case you would have. Currently they have both your car and your money. If ,for instance, the company dissolved tomorrow or a similar situation you have nothing.

Er no.

I had already sent a letter of rejection a month earlier, plus I told them a day before I came on here (via email) what was happening.

Problems can be masked for days/weeks but not corrected properly. They didn't manage it after the original repair, in fact it came back worse. Now after 9 further weeks of them saying 'we can't find the problem' I'm not prepared to take the risk and a solicitor has said I'm bang within my rights.

Well, I couldn't buy it privately because it was been sold by a trader.

I test drove the car. You don't pick up everything about a car in 10-30mins. I couldn't put it through every possible scenario. Diff and breaks I couldn't of picked up.

Anyway that's not so much the point now, it's the way they've reacted to the problem. Which makes them impossible for anyone with any sense to deal with.

I almost purchased a car from them before, but they were just so expensive for what they were selling!

Its like taking a cars market value and adding 40%.....

I know, its great, my cars gone up in value since Cheshire Performance arrived!

I think the trick will be to sell it before;

1, someone burns down their premises and kicks the directors head in

2, they go bust with no one buying their dodgy motors

Its a shame we live in such a politically correct world. In the old days, he would be of been battered so many times by now, he would of realised what he was doing is wrong. Now, he may go to court, get a slap on the wrist, then start up again in someone else's name.

As they say in the VW world, Old Skool Rules.

First and foremost car dealers are there to make money
if someone is stupid enough to sell them their car cheap and someone else is twice as stupid to pay their inflated price then they have only themselves to blame
if someone offered you a £20.00 shirt and some mug says i will give you £40.00 for that shirt wld you say oh no please thats too much only give me £25.00
ALL DEALERS ARE OUT TO BUY CHEAP AND SELL HIGH GET IT THROUGH YOUR HEADS AND ALL WILL BE FINE
Now having made that clear these people are bad

i fully understand
all dealers buy as cheap as poss and sell as high as poss
dealers range from out and out crooks to medium slimy
they will sell a car and then try every trick known to them if there is a problem
remember they make a living doing this and are far more devious than you can imagine
A simple search on any company will highlight their trading profile and tbh anyone who still goes near a company with bad rep is shall we say daft
I have been shafted a few times by car dealers big and small
There is one way to buy a car from anyone...pay for an independant inspection by AA or Rac or take a trained expert in the model of car you are purchasing
My present car was dusty when i bought it but looked immac
turns out it had more chips than my local take away and a slow oil leak
I wouldnt trust a dealer as far as i could throw him with 2 broken legs and the use of my 2 little fingers

well I was going to approach these guys as their stocklist seems quite good........but not now, and I think people tend to buy from garages due to warranty and the option to extend this. I think we forget that not every enthusiast is handy with a spanner and so puts there trust into these so called experts, but I am sure there are some reputable garages out there who would genuinely help people who are not in the know as much as others, the trick it seems is finding them

Very expensive aswell

To be fair they do have a decent rep, but in all honesty there prices are a bit comical to say the least.

Guess you have to pay even more for decent aftersales care

I bought a car from them 7 weeks ago and Im having exactly the same problems as you (bazsti). I don't know how they think they can get away with it, but I has got to stop.
If I had known what they were like I would never of gone anywhere near, but I had never heard of scooby net before, I'm into my German cars really.
I am well past the point of sorting this with CP it has to go to court now, we all need to report these guys to watch dogs rouge traders

Because most people don't do research into the dealer when car shopping and people keep buying their cars.

Rogue Traders is good idea. Do it. Start the ball rolling. I would but I haven't bought a car from them. You have, so you need to do it.

Why dont y'all create a Facebook group and find all those that have been done by these guys - which is pretty easy to find as w e have seen, there are so many! then arrange a meet up at their premises (obviously just to view their cars) and get a journalist down there?

That's a great idea, I am on facebook but I don't know how to start a group. If someone would like to start one I would gladly join it.

The group name should start with Cheshire performance...something...something,
so anyone who searches for CP can see the group too and we can hopefully help anyone else from falling into their trap.
