I also had to slam my brakes on behind a gtr the otherday 
We pulled away from lights with him in front,we pulled away fast but not launching,put it into 2nd gear floored it and when i hit 5000rpm i had to brake incase i hit him

Those three are leagues behind a GTR.
I've had a neck and neck blast with a new V8 Vantage; same 0-60, 0-100 and heavier. But a GTR would leave me for dead. As it would with anything short of a completely mental hypercar.
I think that unless you're pushing over 400bhp with seriously choice chassis mods, your head is in the clouds.

We both pulled away from lights fast but not flooring it and would say we both changed into 2nd at the same time,then floored it and and about 50mph i had to hit the brakes!

Well one thing I will say in his favour is it's all well and good having 600bhp but it's getting that power down and being able to translate it into forward movement as well as being able to control it whilst doing so, nice and easy on a dry grippy track but a different story on greasy roads with cold sumer tyres.
