I would be happy to, but I think merging them could possibly make confusing reading as posts will get intertwined. Saying that, I'm not sure if that is just me not being great at merging.

Hi, I have just been sent a link to this thread, I unfortunately had dealings with Marc several years ago.
Basically started when I stripped 3rd gear, Marc supplied me with a 2nd hand gearbox. I then bought a bigger turbo from him and he then fitted and mapped a link ecu for me. After several months of dealing with him with my car and friends cars he said he wanted to build me an engine, fit big turbo ect. I saw a lot of Marc and thought of him like a friend. I'm a mechanic myself so told him I wanted to do it myself. He then turned up with hks, tomei, rcm parts one day saying look I have these parts come on let's build it!! So I thought okay, I went to his house in Dursley, at the time he had 15 - 20 imprezas at his house, a double garage floor to ceiling with cdb, top end parts ect. We stripped my old engine together and then awaited machine work on my motor. I paid I him a couple of grand, gave him an ecutek and link ecu, genuine hks headers, plus lots of other parts, for the new parts and machine work, but basically for a few weeks all I heard was stories of custom parts being made, problems at the machine shop. Weeks turned to months, to years full of excuses of life threatening illness. Then his number was dead, no one was at his house.
4 years down the road when I had lost all hope of ever hearing from him a phone call out of the blue, " cousin your engine is ready meet me in an hour" 15 hours go by and I meet him 3am at a service station. He has a sprinter van loaded full of impreza parts, I received a few of my old standard parts, a set of cams and a set of new forged pistons! He said we can call it even now cousin you can build your own engine. That is the last time I ever heard from him.
I am friends with several people that have been ripped off by this bloke, some have already posted in this thread.
If your reading this thread and and have never had dealings with Marc you will undoubtedly be thinking what a bunch of idiots giving up cars, money, parts ect but this guy is a con man, he will invite you to his family home, treat you like a brother then s##t on you. I have no doubt he is reading this thread, and laughing at it.
How he is still managing to con people after all these years I have no idea.
People need to be aware of this scumbag!! If there is being a serious case being put together then I am more than willing to help.

Make no mistake he does have skills and is more than capable of fixing the cars but he chooses not to and instead he leads you down a path of false promises and pure depression and dismay followed by pure rage that we take out on the ones we love ..and this ladies and gentleman is the bit that really gets me .
The guy will come for dinner and meet your family all smiles and laughs and even offer to fix any niggles on their cars be it any make. He appears to be a likable chap and people seem to magnetize towards him with stories of working in the South african rally team and building the fastest GC8 in SA among other stories and pure brown stuff
He will befriend you and promise you the fastest impreza on gods earth .. this will be over a long period of time,in many cases years of being the guy you can rely on for anything car related . The sinister work is going on now right behind your back he will befriend your friends who are usually always into the same sort of cars and will pray on the ones he clearly have the most money and best cars .
Before you know it BAM !! he has a mates car or in many cases CARS !!! and your the one who introduced him ..and as you always spoke highly of him your friend trusts your judgement.
The WRC rip snorting Impreza is never coming your pride and joy will be sitting in a damp old unit or in some cases a field rotting away while parts are removed and sold supposedly to make cash for the new FAT HEADED special . In this time period he will tell you the car is being worked on and go into great detail about the parts fitted and machine work talking custom bearing clearances and modified oil pump relief valves and super valves that has gone into the build at no extra cost to yourself .. Now in your head the picture is good old Mark going out of his way with late nights machining and fitting all these nice shiny parts .
Reality is he is in a posh restaurant at your expense after selling your parts and spending your hard earned money,your car is rotting away stripped of its many already good parts and those parts are being fitted on other peoples cars in their groming periods .. once he has a car at a good spec thats the honey pot it needs a new super motor .. NOW KISS GOODBYE TO YOUR PRIDE AND JOY !!!

The truth is its not just the car its the constant promises of the day it is coming back .. and when it doesnt the short temper and bad moods this effects our family s and home life to the point you go insane yourself.

Just had a telephone conversation with the police and Surprise surprise my car is not ready for collection!! I have been told it will Friday but this is the 3rd time that he has not only let me down but the police also. I asked that I want to report my car stolen but I was told that they have seen the car and know where it is not stolen. The definition of 'stolen' is to permanently deprive now from where I'm sitting that's what is happening. I'll be talking today with my legal advisor and will get back to you all.

As a South African living as a guest (now citizen) of your beautify country (UK), I find this extremely disheartening. This is just as unacceptable in South Africa as it is here in the UK and I assure you he would be caught out and dealt with there. Maybe this is why he is no longer in SA, too much heat...
I have put out feelers with the South African Subaru Club, who I have had strong ties with since 2001, and motorsports groups to see if I can get any more information. Does anyone have a picture of him and these types normally go by a few names.
He needs to be found, stopped, prosecuted and put away (or deported if possible!).

he ripped me off for thousands,
i did get my car back ended up at api where it was fixed properly at an additional 4k cost
i trusted this guy and he **** on me like it was nothing
lied to my friends tried to discredit me with my family hell had me thinking it was my fault
luckily i saw sense and got my car back
i stopped loving the car after that sold it and got a bike in my opinion a gsxr 1000b is safer than dealing with this parasite
take it from me he will take you for ŁŁŁŁŁŁŁ and a lot of it
moved on from this txxt now living the dream
any dealings with this guy will be a nightmare i promise you
oh and Marc if your reading this i hope the law catches up with you Hilda see you for what you are and takes your child away from your damaging influence i don't hate anyone more and i cant wait to read all about how you are now locked up away from society

Stop bitching. Honestly. Marc has done years of work for me and many I know. He is very capable. The best at what he does. Long sad stories, why do you all keep going back then??? I know at least 20 people who would jump at telling the world how brilliant he is and how happy they are with their cars that he fixed/mapped, but they all have a life, they don't read slanderous crap!! They happily drive their cars, thanks to Marc. Its not all bad. Stop jumping on the band wagon. Sensationalism will be the end of civilization. Grow up. And leave his family out of it.
