Moley's New Car (Non-Subaru)

They also did a Evo VI RS2? A kind of halfway house between a GSR and a RS.
Then of course you've got your TME/Monte Carlo and the RS Sprint versions and Zero Fighter. It's all there!

After a long wait it's finally here.
Picked it up yesterday and so far very very impressed.
Already changed a couple of bits.... got SVA to lower it on Tein springs, fitted some Ralliart mats, and replaced the dodgy carbon bonnet duct for an original white one.
Gotta say SVA have been fantastic, I'd highly recommend them to anyone. They did a few extra bits to tidy the car up that I wasn't expecting, and it's even better than I'd imagined.
Quick pic now it's home.....

Looks nice.
If it's on the stock plastic recirc valve, I'd reverse it so when it's on boost it's pushing closed. I've done this on a few evo's I've owned and it's made a good difference to the power. The plastic ones seem to push open. I bought am evo 5 once and it was a bit lacking, reversed the recirc valve and it picked up so much more boost it was missfiring as soon (as I'd done the reverse) as it came on boost. It was now showing up the knackered spark plugs (worn gaps too large) which were blowing out, before it wasn't making enough to trouble the tired plug gaps. Chucked in new plugs and it flew compared to when I picked it up. Done the same on two Evo 6's I've owned too. As I'm rambling, I also did the same on a 944 turbo I owned, absolutely flew after and boost gauge was showing it holding way more boost, was chipped and stock recirc had no chance.
If you're into servicing, there's a guide to changing the AYC bath oil on the MLR I wrote in the technical section.
3mm lash adjusters are a good mod too. And highly recommend an OMP WRC suede steering wheel, gets rid of the fugly stock wheel.

Looks a clean example, SVA seem to have some nice motors in stock, would not mind the Evo 8 MR RS they have for sale there at the moment, only thing that annoys me with them is all there adverts never have the mileage of the cars on!!!
What plans you got for it???
What plans you got for it???
My plan was to look for a JDM hawk STi in white
in the next few months, but thats going to be hard task as you dont see many for sale, especially when you see Evo 9 GT's come up for sale quite often and I find myself looking on the MLR for them!!
I see mint Evo's going for strong money on the MLR at the moment, think these nut and bolt clean up restoration projects are getting more popular then the big bhp builds, but saying that I find that on SN too!!
Looks nice.

SVA did the 3mm lash adjusters when doing the service, I forgot to add that to my mods list

It was £7995, but with the alarm and springs it was nearer £8500
Looking at prices in Japan I bought this at the right time (March) as the prices have gone up over there in the last few months.
So many of the UK cars are rotten, so I think if I keep this one clean I shouldn't lose any money on it, I can only see them going up in price.
That said, I definately have no plans to sell..... this is a keeper.
Only mods will be a filter, de-cat and re-map. Should see 350/350 which will do me just fine
Thank you, I'll definately look at doing that.

I said that with my Evo 7 GSR had loads of mods fitted and had it mapped by JGM, dropped JGM off after a mapping session and was coming home when I saw a white Type RA in the distance, which I decided to show him my new found power, unfortunately for me it was a mate of mine's standard-ish Type RA and lets just say my new found power was not good enough!!!

Give it until next year Moley, and you will have a full RS diff set up, AP 6 pots and running 500bhp with a 2.2 stroker kit!!!
