Interesting POV, but I wouldn't say for one minute he or any other player is being exploited, especially top grade players, if anything they're exploiting their clubs and their standing in the game.

That certainly rang true for Suarez last summer and if it wasn't for his latest abhoration he'd probably be at it again playing Liverpool with RM and Barca waiting in the wings.

Under age children in sweat shops, thats exploitation.

The more this competition goes on I think we will have a new winner of the WC.

The Dutch deserve one, but it's still anyone's, most open WC in decades

Well done Holland. Too bad for the Mexicans who went further than most people thought they would.

Having just watched USA's efforts against Belgium, I can't help but think how truly awful England are. Shame they can't just knock it on the head and not put a team forward at all.
All this guff about how great the premiership is is just that. The only entertainment comes from all the foreigners in it. I'm sick of hearing how high tempo the premiership is, then having to watch the low tempo junk England put out in tournaments. Funny how near enough all the other teams (notably the Northern hemisphere ones) manage to keep trying till the end when we don't manage much at all after half-time.

Totally.

Although I thought Germany would win - what with their ruthless efficiency and all that - I never, ever saw that coming!

Christ - the NON-redeemer - on a bike!! WTF!

Worse could follow if the Dutch win tonight and the Argies humiliate the hosts during the 3rd place play off, their relationship is akin to the Scots hating the English x 20 !!!

Gutted it's over with over a month until the Premiership starts. Really enjoyed it as I never expected England to qualify and for me it was about watching emerging teams/players.

I thought the South and Central American teams did really well with Chile, Costa Rica and Columbia doing far better than anyone gave them credit for and Algeria and Iran giving some entertaining games.

For England, Spain and Italy to all go home after the group stages just proved how strong the those so called lesser teams have become.

Bit of a lacklustre final but the best team of the tournament won for me.

Messi went missing on the big stage again. Cannot believe he got the GB.
