To be honest, not knocking Jack's advice but the supermarket kits might put you off as they aren't very good imo, but for a quick test you could try those first, they are pretty cheap.
Absolutely correct, they are not very good, but compared to when this thread started they've improved a lot, I was caught short the other week and could have got used to them but they're expensive, gave it to a mate who made himself sick smoking at the same time
Smok Procolor turned up from FT £49, pretty decent mod overall, better than the Alien imo, paint is lacquered so more durable, feels slightly more compact, a better colour screen, but less info. Has leds around the edge, not sure why, pretty gay, but impresses nubile girls
I like that bio, nice design and display. Not too sure on the rainbow though, passed on this for the ijoy captain and decided on gun metal.
Finger is on the button for the ijoy captain RTA............trouble is, i have tried the tfv8 again with dual claptons. Too much for me, needs 45+w to get going and harsh(thats 80% VG). So not sure how the RTA will be with the captain. Of course i can swap out the 2 claptons from it and use 2x 1ohm for a 0.5ohm build.
If you get chance and have an alien at hand bio, could you do a side by side shot. Just to get an idea of size.....cheers!
How dare you! i love my "jetfuel" 7 colour it does look better in the flesh, but yea it is a marmite colour. They are pretty much identical in size mate, procolor is 3mm thicker so you could get a 25mm tank flush on it, but it feels more compact and grippier in the hand.
One thing i don't like about the procolor is you can't see the realtime voltage unless you are firing it, on the alien it kept that info until the screen timed out. Also there is no manual ohm adjustment for the coil(s), found that quite useful on the alien. The menus are better on the procolor though, well simplified.
Alien has the tfv8 beast on it, big baby beast on the procolor.

Cool, nice and compact then being similar to the alien. That was the strongest factor for me, size yet dual cell. Do miss the alien and that would make a good replacement. No need yet, enjoying the captain for now and need to get my money's worth! Got use to the extra little bulk now.
Must admit coughed to death with coolfire and wicked. Which surprised me after smoking 20 plus Bensons Gold a day!
Having a go with Vype and to be honest, despite it being cheap, its really really good. Think I need to just understand voltages and liquids with the others more.
Really appreciate the help though. And the coolfire seems a great piece of kit

Wicked? Do you mean totally wicked? Their juices are pretty crap to be honest and overpriced.
What tank were you using on the coolfire? it shouldn't have that effect, it could be the juice you were using and maybe too high nicotine content, the coolfire kit has a subohm tank (resistance of the coil is <1ohm) usually so a direct to lung (DTL) device, so you have to lower the nic content otherwise it would be super harsh and cause the coughing.
Which Vype kit? They are usually mouth to lung (MTL) depending on the device so you can use higher nicotine content, they are pricey for what they are though. Once you have gotten use to that, you might be able to go back to the coolfire and lower your nic content.

How are people getting around the new 2ml tank capacity limit? Heard about manufacturers supplying them with oversize coils as well as offering larger tank glass replacements. I am still on my trusty Kanger Top Box mini but fancy a change.

Amazon sometimes, ebay, yep glass extender or buy from overseas/china,
For Fasttech make sure you choose the "UK epacket" option for delivery.
Both sites are good, you'll just have to wait 1-2 weeks on average for delivery.
I've bought coils/mods from Fasttech a few times now and not had any issues.

I build my own coils so have just bought a couple of new tanks,as they're RTA then I think there must be a loophole for bigger capacity, they're are sold in diameter mm rather than ml,my 1st new tank is Triple RTA by Twisted 420 and Vandy Vape,,nice tank, got a new mod as well,I'll post up some pics later.
72mg isn't that dangerous unless you try to drink 100ml of it or something, even then you would just be violently sick, not life threatening. If you are using 100mg nic that's a different story, i got a couple of drops on my hand that got absorbed and was vomiting for 2hours Won't do that again, always wear gloves when handling it, pretty obvious.

So after finding out that a boating trip with the lads+8 cases of beer+a **** boat on the river Ouse, the egig doesn't like swimming!
So the new setup is the hotcig 233 mod which has a waterproof chip, the new tank a Triple RTA by Twisted 420 and Vandy Vape.(had the crown on until the RTA arrived)
The triple RTA is a very nice tank and the hotcig is a nice basic mod,no display and a potentiometer(vape by feel) for power adjustments.
My only problem is the battery power indication lights! They compete with the top hand torch! I need to modify(any suggestions on a postcard)
That's about a metre distance
Happy with the new setup tho and another new tank on the way
