Default Front Tyre Tread Peeling!

I posted a thread a while ago about Achilles Matrix tyres fitted to my wifes brand new Swift.

Also someone else posted that they had these tyres fitted to their scoob.

Anyhoo, when I got out of the car the other day I notice that on the outer edge of the front tyre, the surface was peeling off on some of the outer edge tread blocks, you could just peel it away with your fingers. Also there were small splits in the tyre tread as well.

Anybody know if this would be a faulty tyre or a problem with the set up of the car?
