If theyre completely rounded , try a pair of mole grips and replace with a new one .Plenty on the bay

If you have some EX (External Torx) bits you could try hammering one of them on if there's one that's a close fit in size, or needle nosed mole grips. However, if it's rounded off I imagine it's seized in there. I'd spend a day or two spraying in Plus Gaz or PB Blaster in there first and then hammer on one of these:

They'll be too big but it's basically what you're after (in the correct size of course).

If that dont work, if your careful with a drill , drill down the centre ofthe nipple and use an eazi out. next thing could be to open up the drilled hole to release the metal of the nipple. Last resort is to replace the caliper and, from what youve said , may well be the oonly way

It's a public forum, people are more than free to post whatever they like (within the rules).

I'm hoping that fat to$$er remark isn't aimed at me? If it's aimed at fat thomas I've seen pictures of the bloke, he isn't fat

Perhaps you should leave the mechanical jobs to those with experience/skills. If you do it wrong you will end up busting the calliper, the brembo's are quite known for seized bleed nipples and stripping the threads.

Try tapping a smaller socket on it to get it off , if your stuck I can do it for you , don't have a go drilling out yourself as it will probably bugger the caliper up if your not sure what you're doing , and don't use an easy out as if that snaps in place you'll never get it out

FWIW, this. Just send it to Ian - he'll turn it around in no time and it'll be good as new.

I've just been through similar, though my nipple wasn't obviously seized - it brought out half of the thread with it, with minimal force!

I tried a DIY helicoil, didn't get it 100% bang on and as a result - Caliper may be a write off unless Ian can work miracles on it.

I did justify a nice new set of APs to myself though, so wasn't all bad.

If it does the job it's worth it , but it might still pull the threads out , if you can't sort it , send me the caliper , I can sort it usually the same day , we can machine it out , fit a helicoil , and new nipple for £30
Cheers Ian

Stuart, why didn't you just listen to Ian? He could of saved you screwing up your caliper.

I feel sorry for you.
