Default 04 sti front end handling

Hi guys, I fitted some white line heavy duty drop links to sti and followed the instructions saying measure the original length and replicate the length on the new ones.
After I had fitted these I went for a drive on my usual test road and when going round a sweeping bend it felt the car was on stilts/lifting off. I felt that if I pushed it anymore is would understeer big time.
I have ultra Sr kyb shocks, whiteline strut bars and whiteline arbs. I also have continental sport contact 5's which when fitted killed 50% of the steering feel due to the sidewalls not being stiff enough Imo.
I think I have 3 possible causes -
1.obviously the drop links but they have been set up as the instructions say.
2. The tyres sidewalls can't take the force.
3. I may need an anti lift kit.

I'm not an expert by any means though so any input would be appreciated. Thanks

Were you going faster than normal?
Was there much body roll or just the feeling of the front end losing grip?

Thanks for the reply. Speed was pretty much the same just the front end loosing grip. Forgot to mention currently running around 420bhp. I know at that power the throttle plays a part but it deffo did not feel good

If you've only changed just the front drop links to better quality? Then you've increased the rate of the front bar, by removing previous rate losses, due to movement.

The end of the car with the stiffest combined rates (roll bar rate + spring rate) will slide first.

If your front bar is adjustable, put it on the softer setting, and try again.

If your tyre sidewalls are too soft, have you tried a front pressure of 38psi?
If raising the front pressure creates more understeer, then your problem is not due to soft sidewalls.

Sorry for the late reply I only got round to sorting it last night. The car does feel better on the same test road but still isn't good enough in my eyes as it was before. I will change the tyres back to the Bridgestone s001 tonight and see if it makes a difference to the feedback. I inflated the conti's to 38psi at the front but no difference.
The only other thing I know that made the steering a bit lighter was changing the pas fluid to castrol dexron 3 but this was months ago.

The tyres were the reason. I have since put bridgestone s001 tyres back on the car and it feels much better. The sport contact 5's has awesome grip but clearly did not suit the car in my opinion, lesson learnt.
Thanks for the replies from everyone who helped.
