Default KW V3's, any experiences?

Looking at treating the Widetrack to a coilover upgrade. It's currently on BR series BC coilovers and to be fair they have been great on track and road but they are starting to look a bit tired on the rears so thinking of getting some shinny V3 KW's.

Anyone had any experiences with these? Are they a good track coilover as well as the odd B road drive? The car is used mostly for trackdays and the odd drive out but I will be looking to do some sprints and hill climbs in the future so ideally the new coilovers should be good enough to cope with more track time and have good adjustability.

Thanks

Ive no experience of the KW V3's as such but I was in a similar position to you a while back.
When the Exe-tc's I had gave up the ghost I was looking at the KW V3's and the KW Clubsports.

Long story short, I opted for the KW Clubsports. Essentially the same damper body style but with firmer damping to support stiffer springs. (Also the rear shocks on the Clubsports use a linear spring vs the progressive spring on the V3's).

Use:
I would suggest if your opting for 2-way adjustable shocks you read up on what this actually means and what it will do for you (if you don't already know).

Adjustment:
Since the bump adjustment is on the bottom of the shock body it can be fiddly to adjust. Adjusting the rebound on the rear shocks will require removal of the rear seats unless you make some custom adjusters.

I personally found the Clubsports overkill and swapped to Bilsteins B14's.

What tyres do you use and what other supporting chassis modifications have you made?

I'm running Advan AD08 R's and the following supporting mods,

Whiteline 22/24 ARB's
Whitleline ALK
CDF Solid drop links
BC Bump steer kit
BC BR coilovers

I did look briefly at the clubsports but wasn't sure I needed to spend the extra for them...

I use the same tyres albeit with different chassis modifications. I find the B14's and the AD08-R's a good combination.
That's not to say they won't be with the KW V3's or their V1's, I guess it comes down to personal preference.

It's worth taking a look at the B14's at least by the sounds of it, any recommended dealers you can suggest?

Chevron motorsport deal with them also, I got mine through RCM.
Absolutely nothing wrong with KW's offerings in my opinion, they're a very good product and very well made. Just not for me, doesn't mean they won't be for you.
I wouldn't discount the KW V1's either, comparable to the B14's as a fixed damper rate shock.

I won't discount anything until I've had a proper look at all the options, just so happened that the V3's were high on my list and I remember some pervious chats about them on some older threads.

I have KW V3s on my current type r and they are on par with the B16s I had on my previous type r. I would be happy to use either in my experience

Yeah he's getting on well in that Type R. Clubsports are a tad more than I really want to spend, especially when you add the cost of the top mounts. Great none the less though.

iv run kw clubsports on my ra for the last 2 years both on the road and on track they are fantastic and give great feed back and in both situations one click on the adjusters makes a noticeable difference unlike some of the cheaper coilovers out there iv also been in sprint cars running bilstien b16s and to be honest they are as good as the kws speak to either alyn at asp or simon at chevron for both options

This thread needs pics

The units themselves, and the stance they give to the cars
