Default Ground Control Coilover conversion issues with AGX

Hi Everyone,

We just purchased the ground control, coil-over conversion kit with the AGX struts. Once installed there's a gap between the mount and the top end of the spring kit (pics below). We were told that once installed on the car the gap will go away once the car sits on the ground and the strut compresses.

But once we installed and took it for a drive down some bumpy roads, we kept getting a knocking noise. Our mechanic tells us its because the gap that's pictured below.

Anyone here who has one of these installed on an AGX strut. Do you know if we are missing some components in out install? Do you have pics of what it should look like once installed?

Thank you

What front and rear spring rates did you order?

Did you order 6", 7", 8", 9" or 10" springs?

Why haven't you adjusted the lower spring seats to ensure the upper seat is level with the top of the strut? As image below.
After installation, I'd preload the springs by raising the lower spring seat by 10mm - to keep them in position at full droop.
If required, raise the ride height (DO NOT LOWER) from that position.

If you've already bottomed out the struts, they're scrap.

Thank you! Sorry about the late reply. Busy travelling for work.

Yes we did put the springs all the way up and it still has a gap. We currently have the 7" spring. I will show this picture to the mechanic ans see what he tells me

Again, what front and rear spring rates, did you order?

If your running an 8" spring, or shorter Ground Control spring, you really needed to add the spacer and the helper spring kit.
Or you're going to need a longer threaded section, for the lower seat.

Anyone who sold you your kit needs they're **** kicking, for not telling you they would be needed - $150 MORE to the costs.

Or, you should have bought the P11L springs I had made, and you wouldn't have had this problem. Particularly as you wanted spring rates the same as the P1 - 194lb/in front 157lb/in rear.
Your ground control spring rates are significantly higher than that - which will be horrible on undulating and uneven roads, that you said you had.

Also, ensure you're not going to experience coil bind with your agx dampers, and your chosen springs.
Coil bind should be prevented by metal to metal contact- ie top hat/damper body.
NOT by the bump stop, which is a wear item.
