Default How to replace lower ball joint

Hi,
I have had an advisory that my lower offside ball joint is showing excessive play.
The part seems quite cheap, so was wondering if it is easy for a novice to replace if i just order the part myself.
Can anyone advise if there are any specialist tools that i would require, or should i just get it done by a pro?
Also, are there any DIY guides you can link me to that would explain how to carry out this procedure?
The car is a 1997 WRX STI Type-R

Easy enough to do.

On the alloy bottom arms your car has, there is a cone insert that the ball joint sits in, just make sure you transfer that over to the new ball joint.

Heres a pic so you know what to look for.
