I'm sure you could get a local machinist to make up a titanium flange to suit, but this would probably cost a couple of hundred quid for a one off special. The slip joint is a much better and much cheaper option. Shouldn't cost too much to get that done.

Great exhaust. Glwts.

Don't you just need one of these

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/3in-78mm-U...AAAOSwGvhT535P

And someone who can tig weld stainless. I'm sure you could make a slip joint adaptor very easily & cheaply, then it's just a case of cutting the front flange off the nice shiny expensive exhaust!

All i know is the plan was to cut the 2.5 off and weld the 3" on and join it to the 3" downpipe.

Sounds like a fob off to me, dont see why you "need" a titanium flange, my slip joint worked fine at over 600bhp

You dont need a titanium flange.

A slip joint or stainless v band will work fine

i have this exhaust system on my Forester. It's a lovely system but can be a little loud on a cold start.

I had some Titanium welding done on it by these people: http://www.enigmabikes.com

It's not too intrusive once warmed up as long as you're not cruising on the motorway. On the Motorway it can drone a bit, epsecially if you've backed off the throttle. I've done a trip from Brighton to Manchester and didn't find it too bad. I would say it's probably not suitable if you're putting young kids in the back though.....On the plus side I've never been tailgated on the motorway.

On cold start it's louder than my Honda mower, putting them next to each other and listening from 15 feet away. The mower is apparently 98 decibels but the exhaust is quieter than the mower once warmed up at idle if that helps? At 3000 rpm the exhaust is definitely louder.

It's much louder outside the car than inside. I don't know how much sound insulation the Forester has compared to an Impreza though.....

I bought my exhaust new and it came with a silencer bung you can pop in if you want to quieten things down. If you do this, just remember to put a bolt through the threaded nut and the hole in the tip or the silencer will blow itself out of the tip and down the road on boost. The bung will affect performance. Without the bung in I can take a certain incline in 4th gear, with the silencer in, I have to shift down to 3rd. I would have to shift down to 3rd with the factory exhaust system too. To remove the bung use the spare wheel jack handle and tap on the handle with a hammer to knock the silencer out

Hope that helps?
