Default Will fitting a splitter make the car hit bumps etc

Hi guys.

Got a quick Q for you that I'm hoping a lot of you can answer easily.

I originally fitted a V-limited style front splitter on my blob eye. Since then I have lowered the car on Tien springs which are rated to lower the car around 35mm up front, because IMO the front end sat way too high. Anyway, Since then I have been too scared to fit the splitter back on because my usual route to work has a few sleeping policeman on the way.

So was just wondering If any of you guys run the v-limited front end and are lowered 35mm or more, and can still use the car practically - get over bumps etc.

The last thing I want is to fit it and the first bump I go over just rip the thing off and wreck it. If thats the case Ill just bang it on ebay before i wreck it lol.

TIA. Aaron.

LOL, why on earth buy a car which is tuned for grip and handling, then wreck the handling by lowering it because, "IMO, the front sat way too high"?

Put the splitter back and the stock springs too

Hi.

To say a UK impreza is tuned to handle from the factory i think is an over statement to say the least. After coming from a JDM EVO5 and STI6 in previous years, and owning 2 uk spec imprezas since, its plain to say (and i think most will agree) that the uk models handle crap in comparison. They wallow/roll about and under steer terribly. The mods I have done which are jdm sti dampers, tein springs, 22mm rear roll bar and solid drop links have ironed all them problems out and now the car handles how I expect and want it too. And it looks a hell of a lot better. Cheers for the reply though

Haha, lovely that though mate. And to be honest, if anything the front looks slightly lower on yours than mine so i may give it a whirl. Id put a picture up of my own if i could get this damn pc to load photobucket lol

Generally speaking, are most speed bumps around the same height as normal kurbs? around 100mm or so?

cheers all.

To upload pics just press the icon 2before the hash # really easy

I do drive it easy over the bumps trick is not to brake hard when approaching but nice and easy no probs
Now get that splitter back on bro

In short, no it won't be a problem. The only issue you'll have is that the bumper will no longer go over a kerb so be careful not to park the front too far forward or overhang the front while turning in. It will hit the splitter every time.

Other than that no issues at all running low with a splitter.

that ride height looks spot on.

ive come from lowered on coilovers to jdm shocks and springs and a 22m rear bar with spec c 20mm front bar.
to me its spot on for our roads, feels so much more planted than on coilovers.... just my opinion

Siv

btw i gave up on splitters after destroying 2 in 6 months, again, just in my opinion an absolute waste of money

We will see how long it lasts. To be homest i dont mind too much if i knock the splitter and kill that, i just dont want it carrying damage through to the bumper etc. if i can get away with it though its going on cos the front end looks a hell of alot meaner with it on in my opinion.

Cheers guys.
