Thumbs up The 2015-2016 Liverpool FC Thread

Not bad business so far, pleased with the Firmino transfer. Awaiting that £50m bid from City for Sterling now

IN
Roberto Firmino (Hoffenheim, undisclosed)
Joe Gomez (Charlton Athletic, £3.5m)
James Milner (Manchester City, free)
Adam Bogdan (Bolton Wanderers, free)
Danny Ings (Burnley, fee TBC)

OUT
Steven Gerrard (LA Galaxy, free)
Glen Johnson (released)
Brad Jones (released)
Jordan Lussey (released)
Marc Pelosi (released)
Iago Aspas (Sevilla, £3.6m)

Should be a few more out's yet, hopefully another couple of quick in's ready for pre-season rather than leaving it too late as we usually do.

Tbf those signings won't worry the rest of the league let alone the top 6.. Liverpool fc shouldn't be getting free transfers and small signing fees.. I also think your manager is way out of his league...

So you've just been reading about him, but you're adamant that he won't worry defences in the Premiership?

He can play left wing too, Sterlings position. If anything I expect Coutinho encouraged him to sign.

Yes, I don't see how or why that's funny??? His record for hoff is one in 3. While we are at it.. You still need a better keeper.. Getting that free.. Well you may aswell have kept Jones.. And you still need a centre back and a striker.. And manager!!

A little bit of light reading on the internet, doesn't make you an expert.

I'll take Ronaldinho's opinion:

“For Liverpool to have Coutinho and Firmino is a big achievement for them,” he said.

“It is going to give them one of the most exciting midfields in Europe.

“The creativity, intelligence, and goals they have between them can change Liverpool as a team. It is a big sign of intent. To have a midfield with those two gives them a big chance to qualify for the Champions League next season.

“It is a dream for the Liverpool strikers to have that sort of service. If you can’t score goals in a team with Coutinho and Firmino in midfield then you wont score goals in any team. They will create so many chances.”
I'm sensing bitterness, which team do you support?

actually I made the comments BEFORE reading about him.. and of course im not an expert on football or Liverpool fc.. but never said I was!!! it was YOU that posted the thread on a public forum and by doing so your asking for comments in return.. youll get good comments but youll also get comments that you don't agree with, it doesn't make either right or wrong.. I was merely posting MY opinion, which is what you was asking for so don't get your tight knickers in a twist

I still don't think he will be much KOP() he may score a few wonder goals.. thread through the odd little gem maybe even a nutmeg or two.. but all in all in MY opinion its money wasted yet again by Rodgers...

don't get so uptight when people don't agree with you or question things you post

have a good day

I'm glad to hear it, I'm happy to have discussions about football with people who share an interest in the sport, have the personal experience or facts about players

We post these threads for our clubs each year, they mostly contain banter and friendly rivalry, but if statements are made armed with just a crystal ball and a chip on one's shoulder without the facts to back them up, then they usually get shot down.

Your comments smacked of a Utd fan That's banter

Back on topic, I'm not convinced that Firminio is physical enough for the Premiership, but that remains to be seen.

Just because I disagree with you and/or give my opinion about something doesn't mean I'm right... I've watched football for years and other sports.. So I consider myself to be a "sports fan". You was not having a laugh and joke (banter) you was having a pop at me because I dare post in your thread about your team and most a whole host of assumptions about me.. Then you say he is not physical enough...!!

Back on topic?? Ok..

He doesn't/hasn't scored enough goals from an attacking midfielder.. As I said just 1 goal in 3 with hoff.. That's a huge outlay on a very young Brazilian into the beast that is the premiership..although at almost 6' he could certainly beef up a bit but of course he doesn't have time to do that now. He will get bossed around to much I feel which of course you've said yourself. Rodgers can't play both fermino and coutinho so who does he leave out?? Couthino had a pretty good season last time round so he will be pissed if he don't play even more..and paying near on 30 million then playing him out of position on the left, where he will still get bossed.. You've got a huge (registered) squad of players so will be expecting more from you guys this time round as I think you over achieved last season..

My thoughts for liverpools season.. Top 8.. Good cup run in fa cup.. Rodgers replaced by the end of the year.

As for Utd... They played awful all season and yet still finished high!! Sometimes LVG looks like he picks the team and positions from a hat!! And most of the squad are exactly that.. Squad players...!

I'm not going to spoil the Liverpool thread by posting impressive footballing facts and figures but there was no bus involved in lapping everyone else last season

Scappy win, but we'll take that. Gomez is looking like a bargain.

Another long range screamer from Coutinho

On heir opening five games that really is evident, their "gifted" 3 points against the mighty Cherries still boils my ****!
