It still messing about, reset the ecu and its fine for about 150 miles then it starts to pull timing, starts from about 4500rpm through to 6200rpm, after 6200 its like a switch has been flicked and it flies.
No knock can be heard with Det cans so no idea, maybe MAF dying, knock sensor dying, something banging about in the engine bay which is being heard by the knock sensor.
I need to do some data logs on it but I'm too busy with other stuff at the mo.

New Daily bought, an 04 Plate Mondeo Zetec TDCI 130, oh yeah! Got cruise, climate, all the toys you need, does 50mpg and is cheap as chips and comfy!

No, keeping the wagon

Starter isn't an engine out job, about 40 mins to change it. Clutch, DMF etc have all been done, don't think it's got a DPF, EGR blank is already on order
. And Injectors are easy to replace and code anyway so long as you know what you're doing.

Popping over to see Duncan on Friday at SSR for another tweak on the map, going to back off the knock sensor sensitivity to stop it pulling timing. Not sure if I'll get a dyno print also.

Well changes have been made, I need to go out and give it some miles and see if its made any difference. If not take some logs, email them to Duncan who can alter the map accordingly then I can flash a modified one back on.

So took it out for a good amount of driving on Tuesday, was pretty warm down here, over 20 Degrees and the car felt really good. No flat spots, no power loss, pulled like a train. So touch wood it would seem that the issue is resolved!
Next job on the car is going to be getting the aircon fixed I think, it's got a leak somewhere just need to figure out where it is. I'm thinking the condenser is probably holed.

Wife has broken it... Tried to drive over a pile of sand and rubble with the front right which scratched the bottom right of the bumper all up and pushed it up and broke the mounts that hold it on.
Scratches aren't actually that bad just the bumper is now loose and flaps about a bit on that side!

2x new tyres on order 
Managed to catch a screw right in the shoulder of the passenger side front in an area that cannot be repaired apparently. Both have about 5mm left on them too.
This car seems to pick up so many punctures!

Well was using Conti Sport Contact 5's for a few sets, but they kept falling to pieces before they were worn out, chunks missing etc etc. And got fed up of replacing them.
So I thought sod it, try something else and put on some Nankang (yes I know) NS-20 as they're half the price. And they're actually pretty damn good I have to say. Dry grip I can't tell the difference, they're very progressive, don't suddenly let go etc. Wet the Conti's probably slightly had the edge but there's not a lot in it, and once the conti's were chewed they were pretty **** in the wet to be honest.
These however have about 4.5mm - 5mm of tread left on them and they're all in one piece, no chunks out of the tyre and were wearing really nicely until the **** of a screw came along and ****ed one of them.

I think I had a set of those on the back of one of my BMW's.
I used to buy good quality tyres for the front and utter crap for the rear and just slide the **** off of it everywhere. With really good front tyres and terrible rear tyres they used to drive like they had 500 bhp lol

Yeah it goes pretty well for a little 16G turbo . 2.1 torque helps I think .
I keep looking at those also as everyone raves about them. I think maybe for the next set I'll give them a go. At the moment I just need it back on 4 wheels.

Mine will slide about. It's a lot more faff than a Straight 6 or V8 RWD BM though lol.
In mine best way is, far to fast into corner, lift off, masses of lift off oversteer, plant foot whilst sideways and keep the slide going on the power.
It will power oversteer a bit out of corners if you're driving like an absolute nut job also.

Had the new tyres fitted and scrubbed them in nicely now.
Nearly had a disaster at the weekend. Noticed one of the turbo coolant hoses didn't look right so had a look at it. The second I touched it coolant started pissing everywhere as the pipe split. Managed to chop the damaged end of the hose to get back to good rubber and refit. I have some spare brand new hose in the garage so I think I'll replace the entire hose this weekend.
Very glad I managed to catch it before it let go as it would have emptied the cooling systems pretty damn quickly had it gone on the road.
Other than that it's running well, brakes are utter ****e and still need sorting, they're just not up to the power. I had smoke creaming out of both front wheels the other day.... It'll be getting another oil change once I've been paid and maybe some bigger brakes of some description but the Mondeo also needs a few bits sorting on it.

Trying to decide what brakes to go for.. Brembo's are the obvious choice but for not a lot more money you could get something else. Brembo's would also need spacers on the front etc (I'm not changing the wheels, I want the car to look as stock as possible).
I'm also not sure that Brembo's are such a huge step up in performance over what's fitted at the moment.
