Default Is a stage 3 CC clutch overkill?

Hi all, just wanted to canvass opinions (particuarly from anybody whos had one), if a stage 3 CC clutch is overkill for a 53 plate STI with prodrive pack?
I've seen one for a very good price brand new and was thinking of pairing it with a lightweight flywheel, but not sure if the fact its probably designed for harder use then what i'll give it (daily driver, maybe some trackdays in the future) will make it difficult to live with? Is it a better option to go for a less aggressive one.
i do intend at some point in the future of going for more power, but not immediately. Is it a good idea to fit it for when i do go down this route?
Thanks
Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

Yes, it's overkill. Never install clutch with higher rating than you need, you will regret it.

Cheers matt-c, out of interest, is a too highly rated clutch likely to negatively effect the engine etc?
Thanks,
Alex

I have a cc stage4 in mine and its not too bad really. I get slight judder and its more of a button than a peddle but it copes with what i need it too.

An over specced clutch wont effect your engine but will make the car uncomfortable to drive. An exedy pink box or cc stage 2 is about right for your spec

Thanks gazney, i was originally looking at the pink box exedy packages but then saw this thread https://www.scoobynet.com/drivetrain...periences.html
and got put off the exedy looking at other peoples experiences. Not sure if its just the pink box that has some negative reviews and if the blue box is unaffected, but then more uncertainty if a blue box will cope with any power increases in the future. im sure a blue box will be perfectly fine for now however.
Think im leaning towards a CC then saw a stage 3 for sale hence the op.
Cheers for advice gents

Competition Clutch Stage 2 is nice to drive and will handle big power.

Available as a complete package deal, click "Buy Together" tab from a desktop browser for package deal saving: https://aztecperformance.com/clutche...1-6-speed.html

Thanks for the feedback P555SBR and Fawor. This further cements what i've feared. That and rattles on over-run.

CC kit it is then i think. My order will be with you towards the end of this month Aztec

Cheers all
