Default Damn sigma alarm, help??

Hello, I hoping someone can help me out with my alarm issues. The alarm has never properly worked since I bought the car(2 months) key fob doesn't do anything, immobiliser works by putting the code in twice. I've tried to relearn the fob, but nothing happens. Also if the alarm goes off ie by opening the door when code is put in, only the indicators flash, no alarm noise. It's doing my head in typing the stupid code. Anybody had this problem or any ideas? I was thinking of buying another control unit off ebay?

Cheers

New fobs are £52 from Subaru if it's the small blue ones with a single button.

EBay - IMPARTSB46 - 210364416045
