Default 305bhp 267lbs how to get lbs up??

Hi I have just had the car on the dyno
It made 305bhp and 267lbs
Car is a uk 2000 terzo
440s
Td05 16g
Fmic
Power fc
Full exhaust and intake
Fuel pump etc etc
Running uk 5 speed

What do people think of these figures? What is it that improves the torque ?

Whack a forged 2.5 in there....mine managed 342 bhp / 410 ft lbs with standard turbo / injectors. I do also have PPP exhaust set up (nothing special really)
A peach built by Subaru 4 You, then mapped by Mr Rawle.

get a better turbo

A decent 16g would make 330bhp and torque on that setup, if its an ebay special its probably that. Either that or cheap crap headers are another way to lose power/spool etc.

And ditch the apexi, theyre dated technology. Come over to the mainland for an ESL board and map, with switchable maps, mafless, antilag and launch if required.

There's only about 10k miles on my bottom end rebuild and after the car sat for a few years I ended up doing a top end rebuild.
Am I right in saying a side entry turbo off a classic wrx is the 16g? It's a original Subaru one.
I'm running just under 1.2 bar didn't want to push the limits.

Im also running standard headers and up pipe.
Your right about the power fc it's a dated piece of kit. I'm happy enough with the 300hp mark but just wanted to know is that the usual output of torque on a uk turbo?

What Benifit would the avcr have over the manual boost control. It holds boost pretty good at the min?

You can set the gain and boost linits better so it will control boost better and inprove spool by holdong the wastegate shut etc. It will also allow multiple boost settings.

Stick with the apexi.

A terzo should have a front entry turbo, not top entry (theres no such thing as side entry).

16g came on early STI's and was top entry, so if its been converted to front entry it should be a capable unit.

At that boost i'd expect your torque to match bhp if its a genuine td05.

Yes it was converted to front entry. Any ideas what would contribute to the lower torque apart from the turbo?

What sort of power/torque before the headers? I have a 3" down pipe 2.5" centre and 3" backbox

330bhp & 332 ft lbs, this was 3" down pipe & centre, 2.5" prodrive back box and japspeed equal length headers, swapped to full 3" mongoose system and RCM unequal headers.

I don't fancy changing the headers etc at the min I'm planning on driving it for a while and see how it goes. Was that all with the td05? What sort of Boost?

Ran 330/330 on a 1999 uk2000 with the following

front converted td05-16g
440cc injectors
255 fuel pump
Front mount intercooler
rcm induction kit
3 port boost solenoid
Scoobyworld sports cat system
stock headers/up pipe
Mapped by Zen using ecutek on stock ecu

I know you're limited fuel wise in N.I but that wont account for the huge torque loss.

Who mapped it? Finding mappers that will do apexi are getting harder and finding ANY decent mapper in N.I is almost impossible. I know of 2 subaru places in N.I and ROI that fly in 2 different mainland mappers to do their work. The more I look at your figures vs spec the more it leans towards a mapping issue

Cheers guys for the info. I've heard of Murray motorsport. I'm having a bit of juddering/misfiring around 3000rpm waiting for leads to arrive. Once I sort the problem I will think about getting the map looked at

Get it map checked by someone who knows what theyre looking at before replacing random parts chasing a misfire. A lot of lads get the ferry to Scotland and go and see Andy Forrest for a map.

Used to live in Wicklow, ROI so I know what a pain it is finding reputable people to work on a Subaru. Lot of lads make the mistake of going to places that'll map anything, then wonder why they need a new engine or have running issues shortly after. Other person to look up is Pete Simmonds, he's mapped a fair few newage Imprezas over there that I know of, and is an ecutek mapper, but not sure if he does apexi tho. Scoobyireland facebook page is a good place for advice.

I'm going to give Murray Motorsport a call see what he says. 2 of the leads where wore through the outter sleeve so definitely need replacing. I don't like turning my back on the fella that mapped it before he maps loads of motors and has good results could be a problem with my motor or as you say could be a problem with the map. Cheers for the info
