Default Cheap Type R

Came across this whilst window shopping, it would appear adding RCM decals more than doubles a cars value.

I'm sure that was in japanese performance a few years ago, but that is too expensive - very sweet car though

the addition of an ecu will de restrict the car to utilise the full potential of this amazing JDM engine

so its not even mapped then........

I was going to buy this car at the start of the year from the guy who sold it to this dealer, there were many problems with it which resulted in me not going ahead with the purchase, the price i was going to pay was £8.5k which seemed fair enough for a car which had just had a full respray.

The guy who owned it actually has another one the same which his mrs drives to shows etc but it has a forged engine and is much better spec, it was hers that was in the magazine mentioned above and not this one.

Anyway i started speaking to the guy regarding this one at the end of last year when it was away getting the respray and was told i would be able to pick it up around March, i left a £500 deposit and spoke to him regularly regarding the progress, when he got the car back from the spray shop there were a lot of problems with the car (the car had been stored for 2 years and hadnt moved prior to getting the respray), there was an oil leak somewhere around the gear box which required the gear box to come out, the suspension was knackered and some other small niggles, he said that i would have to pay the bill to fix these problems as he wasnt spending another penny on the car, it then came to light that the car had never been mapped when it came in the country and it put me off along with the other problems mentioned, i then seen the jdm hawk i now have and went for that instead. Just after that he was going to a car show and the engine let go on the motorway not far from his house, he then had another engine fitted and has since sold it to this dealer.

I dont see why he expected me to pay for things to be fixed on the car when i hadnt even bought it yet, anyway i didnt get my deposit back but ive took it on the chin and learned from that mistake.

The bodywork on the car is amazing though, flawless paintwork and the guy actually has a few show cars so does keep them clean but after he fitted the engine he was looking for £11.5k, dont think anyone will ever pay £16k for it even though its one of the cleanest bodyworks you will find.

Bodywork is a little cleaner than mine, but going by the spec I will ask at least 20k as it has the original Japanese windscreen stickers
