Default What size tyre for 18x8.5 on a hawkeye

Hi Guys,

What size tyre is going to work best on a hawkeye STI on 18x8.5 wheels?

I'm wanting a nice flush fit too (aside from tyre size) - what's recommended to achieve this? These are the wheels i'll be buying:

http://scoobyworld.co.uk/catalog/pro...oducts_id=3510

Cheers

Done a bit of research on this and think on stock suspension the prodrive GT1 should look nice at:

18x8.5 with 245/40/18 rubber.

Anyone feel free to correct me if i'm wrong but i think that will give a nice stance.

Yeah jeff fowkes, been in touch with them, 18x8.5 ET53 Prodrive GT1's with 245/40/18 vredestein ultra sessanta pre-fitted (my preferred tyre choice - on various cars been by far the best all rounders) for £1175 delivered UK. Can't go wrong.

Could get it cheaper by buying the tyres seperately from camskill or such like but to be fair I paid £300 more than that just for tyres on my previous E92 M3. So to me, seems like a bargain and the convenience of them arriving fitted to the wheels is worth £100 to me

That's a damn good price!!

I got the same alloys but bought direct from subaru and opted for Michelin pilot sports 3 in 235/40/18 as I was told that 245 would rub.

How are people running 245/40/18 on a newage Impreza???

RB320 runs 235/40/18 and i thought that this would be pretty much the limit on a 8.5inch rim, but 245/40/18 is hatch newer STi tyre size and I know they rub like mad on hawk/blob/bug!!!

Is the Spec C the same ride height as a normal STi???

Is there much traveling distance from your tyre to the arch extension???

My mate runs 235/40/18 on his JDM STI, which is lowered slightly on Tein springs and the rears catch when driven hard or with anyone sitting in the rear.

My Blob has a set of those wheels off a Hatch, shod with the hatch-standard 245/40x18 Dunlops. It has AST coilovers.

When I had the geo done, we couldn't get the amount of camber I wanted as the tyres then rubbed on the ASTs, so we had to compromise (actually we didn't realise and it failed an MOT because of rubbing so had to have the geo re-done).

When the tyres wear out, I will probably go for 235/40x18 to avoid this problem.

I was just going to say the same thing as Tim, If you guys with 245`s have coilovers on have you looked at the space on the inside especially at the rears at the top of the wheel, Just because its not rubbing on the arch doesnt mean its not rubbing
