Well last night did a final tweek on the vpower map after finishing all the meth i had in there from TOTB.
Weve dropped boost down to 1.7 bar as i dont think the turbo gains anything more at 2bar tbh, different turbos will take more boost like gt30 etc.
Im now liking the vvt now it's working, spools from 3k now instead of 4k like last time, had to ajust the low end fuel around the vvt area as the vvt requires more fuel there it seems, as we only switched it on at totb without a test drive as obviously no time for that, it wad seeing full boost anyway so didn't notice till driving it home. (Stupidity the selenoid pins in 1 of them had bent down when plugged it, doh. Always something silly).
Anyway, fine tuned it last night and is now hitting 1.7 bar and will peak to just under 1.8.
I 'told' tim i need some more timing as thats what i like so he put as much timing as safe to do so in there and honestly the car is so aggressive now it actually feels better than the 2 bar map i had earlier.
We will again ajust the meth map too to compensate extra timing as that will probably take more. Hehehe.
Now it would be good to see a dyno result after all the tweeks and cooling issues ive now sorted, but in all honesty the dyno will make no difference to how the car now drives on vpower on 1.7 bar, its an animal to say its a small turbo, even tim loves it to how it preforms, not always about big bhp.
I must say, thanks to tim aka tweaks developments for undoubtedly the great service hes given me along the way, any issues at a drop of the hat responds to any queries and has never once said he hadn't got tim to adjust/tweek map in certain areas.
This is 1 of the main reasons I didn't use andrew carr and sorting the niggles ive had and then going back for tweeks to compensate the niggles ive fixed at home etc would be a nightmare to get hold of him, its the best decision i made in choosing a mapper to look after my car and wouldn't hesitate in recommending him to my friends and orhers.
Hes a top gandu

Anyway a few more pics i found thanks to the photographers below

Well, not a great update, looks like I'm gonna have to pull engine apart.
Seems either my heads are warped/cracked from the coolant issues I had a short while back which I've sorted the coolant issues now but might have been a bit late, or my head studs are lifting which I doupt it, but a possibility seen as they are the rcm1635s.
Ah well pull it out and get it sorted.
(I'm getting pressure into my coolant which then spits it out of overflow when on boost)

Yeah it's a bummer but it's not blown, still drives great etc.

No joe, it just does it on boost, pressurises water and looses it in overflow when racing, so thinking heads maybe lifting or warped.
There's nothing wrong with motor tbh, still preforms well, unless I find a crack in block etc then I'll look into built, but for now just gonna take heads off and redo everything, stronger studs etc, it's about 1k in parts plus labour so better option for me ATM.
Always said I'd get a 2.1 in there if and when engine blows, now would be best time to do it but not really financially suitable ATM, if my blocks still good which I reckon it is then roll on I say.

The 1635 studs I got are only rated to around 350hp on rcm website, but was told by the man that he's ran over 500 with these studs no problem so don't see why I don't believe him, however it's not really logical to me refitting them, going to get extremes in there just incase.

14s for upto 600hp and would have to get my block/heads redriled so IMO overkill for me. May aswell get built motor if going that route as got to split block to do it.
I'm only running around 450 so no way would I 'need' them, stock studs have seen 500 on some cars without lifting, but I'm not happy the 1635 studs are rated to 350, so going for extremes which are proper 450 ones. I'm barley gonna see 500 on this engine anyway.
Might not even be studs tbh, possibly warped heads, funnily, did a block/sniff test a while ago and didn't change colour, but that's on idle.
Only seems to happen on boost which points to head lift , no issues normal driving, even on boost I just keep an eye on coolant and top up, but I shouldn't have to do that so best get it sorted once and for all.

If I find a crack in block, then I'm going 2.1, time will tell.

See you had fun other day

What gaskets are on there?
I'm at 460bhp and I went 14s purely because it was out and in bits so know what you mean mate. Strip it and check it I guess
Yeah had a big off, panel damage luckily, this is what happens when using the car for that purpose I guess. I'm not the only one who's had a bit of an off recently I'm I?

They are rcm 1.1mm, I'll replace with same or cosworth ones this time, I'll bang a cossy belt in there too.
you're on a nice new 2.1 though so may aswell of fitted 14 studs as future proof for later, pointless on my stock block tbh unless I'm going built then yeah for peace of mind and future capabilities. If I was aiming for 500+ then deffo do 14mm conv.
Never, thought you was 500+?
Hahaha, well my small dent not as bad as yours, it is what it is mate, can't peddle around, got to push them and not care, otherwise that would be pointless driving them.

Yeah I know what your saying, that's the only reason I went 14's.
460 1.5 bar on v power, not bad eh, 2nd on overall handling circuit at totb Saturday and 7th overall on Sunday with no power steering pump, not to mention all the other stuff we've done, it's a low powered car mine
Keep it this side of 500 is my advice mate, don't need anymore for road, just not worth the hassle

Lol, you're telling me, thought you'd be higher boost than that, yeah you done good dude.
Agree too much power can be uncontrollable feathering throttle etc, 400+ in a classic is pretty rapid enough on track etc.
Folk who like drag runs I can understand more power the better, but drag don't do nothing for me really.

On the downside of this aswell, means my suspension will have to wait AGAIN ffs. Was nearly ready to finish handling, was shocking at totb lol. I may of got a bit closer to you hehehe.

Nah mate, keeping it very safe for the time being,
Power wise your about right I think, it's a useable amount and that's what's it's all about.
Get your suspension sorted, it's more important than the power mate, makes the power useable.
Hope you get the issues sorted

For those that don't know about my off at Blyton trackday, this is the damage caused

Seems to be no end in spending (I've been running 5mm spacers on my ce28s as the calipers were paper thin close,Which I've never been comfortable with as I loved the ce28s, I will miss them. so for added security I wanted a bit of give incase I ever buckled wheel etc otherwise my AP calipers would be toast)
These more than clear calipers now, they will do for now, but I want them painted bronze

Got some side shots as I dropped it off with Tim, with the new rims on, as this is the first time I've seen a proper side shot since fitting, I think I like it. Looks original, not sure I want to paint them bronze now.
