Sending individual tweets are good, but a hashtag can go global, if it trends we could get some footballers or what ever maybe turning up (you never know)

We need a generic tag to trend, the more people that tweet the bigger the trend. If 1D can tend everyday, we should be able to smash it in numbers for this worthy cause!

rotty666 29 August 2012 03:06 PM

Hi, I have posted this thread on facebook inorder to try get more cars there on the 8th, Being a bike rider myself, some of us bikers would love to attend also. Lets make this a day all the family can remember for the right reasons.

Just joined so i could post! im an ex scooby owner now Audi! its all over the Audi SRS &Sport.net, ive posted on focus st forums also! seems this could be huge as i know of several clubs wanting to attend!
I have an 11 year old son myself and just cannot imagine what connors family must be going through:cry:
Hopefully lots of cash will be raised so maybe Zippy and family can take connor for a great holiday!:) i think he will need it after all the fast rides in different cars it looks like he will be getting:luxhello:
Hope all goes well at this event and myself and others will be attending:thumb:
keep the donations coming fellas:thumb:

vicarofsheff 29 August 2012 03:29 PM

This is such sad news.

I can not imagine what the poor little lads family and friends are going through.

The fordRST.co.uk will be attending the meet for this little lad.

Lets just hope him seeing all these cars and people turning out for him puts a smile on his face even if it is just for a few hours.

n339jmb 29 August 2012 03:29 PM

Just got my mate che mills, UFC fighter to tweet this story, have messages others to do same... :)

mikeyplum 29 August 2012 03:36 PM

I have just joined after reading about this through Pistonheads.

Zippy, I'm so sorry. I can't say anything thay hasn't already been said but my heart goes out to poor Connor and all of you!

I have contacted a friend who is heavily involved in the Jap/Drifting scene to see if he can organize some attendees for the meet.

I have also spread the word on Facebook, posting on my home page as well as a few race circuits (Castle Combe to name one). Hopefully, the word will spread.

I would love to come along and support your boy but I have a prearranged camping trip that weekend which is, unfortunatley, in the opposite direction to where the meet will be.

I have a 2 1/2 year old and I don't even want to imagine what pain you are going through! I commend you all for being so brave and trudging through such a difficult time!

I will be donating and I applaud your modesty by offering the money to charity's and, of course, the choice is yours, but I would echoe what other people have said by urging you to use the money to make Connor have an almighty time! Days out, once in a lifetime experiences and enjoy your time with him with smiles on all of your faces!

I hope you all have an amazing day and hats off to all the generous donaters! Whether it be offers of money, cars, passenger rides or bouncy castles, the support has been truely inspiring and has somewhat restored a little of my faith in humanity! :D

All the best Zippy!

Mikey

Dear Zippy

I have re joined scoobynet just to post this .

You need help fast .. The level of interest in this matter is huge. And it needs controlling very very fast . The offers you are getting are Lovely. But what you really need right now , is a professional event organiser or company to take over very quickly .

Companies these days are so scared of legal issues etc. Crowd control , security , dealing with the emergency services/press etc takes a lot of experience .

I hope maybe someone can step forward and not "take over it " but allow you to relax and know someone has got "your back"
Companies also like dealing with professionals . In this mad world of H&S a "event" like this needs to be kept in order , otherwise it turns into a right ****** "flash mob " event and one the Police MIGHT get a bit pissed off with

I am sure you see my point, its is 100% meant ti be positive rather than negative

Also , if money is going to be donated , that needs to be controlled for legal reasons ,

All this will allow you and your son to relax and enjoy your time together which is the most important thing in the world

Truly , good luck , I am sure with the will of some God/Allah ( Remember "Moses " and his God/Allah stuff threads !!, only old members will get this !) Some one will get in touch with good experience and make this a lot easier for you .

JenCTR 29 August 2012 03:49 PM

Hi Zippy, another one over from CTRO.

I'm so sorry to hear about your wee lad.

A few of us are at JAE that weekend but there is talk of some of us all piling into a couple of the cars and coming back up for the afternoon, regardless of you and your boy's opinions us torqueless, 2 wheel drive ricers:lol1:.

I hope you've had a chance to look at how viral this has gone. I've found it very humbling, and I hope you can draw some strength from it.

I'm looking forward to this, and hope to perhaps say hi to you and your family on the day. If not, I hope Connor has the best day possible and that it leaves you with another happy memory to add to the rest.

Thinking of you all,

Jen

BiddlyWiddly 29 August 2012 03:53 PM

Hi, staff writer Andrew from Banzai here. Just joined up to say that I read the OP late last night after seeing it posted on Facebook from SIDC and it's heart-breaking - our thoughts are with Zippy, Connor and the family at this awful time.

I reposted the link to our Facebook wall last night and it's been getting a lot of shares since then, so we're doing our bit to get the word out and hopefully it will help in some small way to make this a special and truly memorable event for all who attend, but particularly Connor and his family.

As a magazine, we won't be able to attend in person (sso sorry, but we're engaged elsewhere in the country and cannot rearrange as much as we want to :() but if one of the organisers want to get in touch by email, we can see about getting a small event report in the next issue if it's of any help or interest to the Zippy family. I fully appreciate that in this day and age, the immediacy of social media wins out in time-critical situations such as this, but if it's of any help, the offer is there.

Thanks to Dean for posting it up on the Banzai forums too - I'll be posting fon behalf of the mag in that thread shortly.

Hope it all comes off and that everyone possible who can attend will.

Andrew Biddle, on behalf of the staff at Banzai magazine

Hey guys, and zippy.

I've popped over from the pistonheads forum. There is huge support for you, and a fair few of us seem to be able to come.

I've only got a 3 series, nothing special compared to what some people are bringing, but I'l do my best to make it look presentable and come along to offer my support and help make it a fantastic day.

BrownPantsRacing 29 August 2012 05:17 PM

Words fail me. Terrible news. Good to see there are some nice people in the world willing to help people going through impossible times like you.

My thoughts are with you. This thread is now on VZi (VW forum as well).

Good luck.

I can't make Harrogate, I am sorry.

I have a red VX220 racing in Time Attack, if you and your son can get to Snetterton on the Friday 21st September I would happily take him out in the car on the test day, if not, you are most welcome to come to the event either Saturday or Sunday for a mad modded car fest.

You are both in my prayers.

Email me mike.cantelo@haymarket.com if you want to come.
