help. Identify the car???? New car that looks like a classic?

The other half has seen a car she thinks she might like, but has no idea what it is...

The best description is that it looks like an old car, but is in fact new. We have no idea what they are called so searching the Net for one is proving hard.

I think they are sold from a house in Sonning Berkshire, either that or they have several parked on the drive.

Just need to know a name and then can do a search and find out a bit more about them.

Think they are a two door small car, normally in a pale blue type colour...

Please help.

Thanks

I think I know what you mean. The Nissan figaro is the name that comes to mind, but I don't think they are made any more. Maybe there is a newer equivalent?

The Figaro was meant to capture the general spirit of '50s cars in some vague way, rather than to be a reproduction of a car that had actually existed. It was one of a series of Nissan special editions known as the Pike cars, all of which were knowing takes on different eras or cult vehicles.

With its kitsch, dumpy styling, the Figaro looked rather like a giant radio set, a wheeled version of Ed's Diner, or something equally facile. 'Only' 20,000 were built in 1991, based on the Nissan Micra platform but using a twin-cam, turbo-charged one-litre engine. Figaros were theoretically made only for the Japanese market, but several of these awful pistachio-coloured runts have been sold to British celebs. Notable owners are Jonathan Ross and Vanessa Feltz. Nuff said.

Or even that peculiar looking US saloon. Might be a Dodge but I am not certain.

It's nice to see a woman who knows her automotive "place", so to speak, by looking at such cars....

Far too many of them burning round in sports cars and big SUV's/MPV's these days!

:D;)
