Default Peugeot 307cc folding mirrors fault

Hi
My girlfriend is having problems with her 307cc folding mirrors. When you turn on the ignition before starting the engine they fold all the way out but if you turn the engine on without waiting they stop at where they got to. It never used to be a problem but it started doing this a few weeks ago. Could this be a battery problem ?
Has anyone come across anything similar ?

That's a tragic story.

I think you need to change the car or your g/f

But does it matter? Most women don't use their mirrors

There may be out of sync, should be a relatilvy easy fix...

* (Disclaimer if you fubar your mirrors its your own fault !!!)

Folding mirros have 3 positions

Normal - the mirror is in its normal use position , ie perpendicular to the car

Inboard (rear) - the mirror its inboard, parked position (or can be in this position if struck / has struck an object)

Inboard (fwd) the mirror is inboard, but facing the opposite direction to the nornal folded position.

Depending on what / where the the mirrors internal clutches will partly influence how long the resync can take.

To resync mirrors

Ignition off -

1) Fold the mirrors in manually (this will break the mirror off its internal clutch)

2) Turn the ignition on, and park the mirrors, you may hear some clunks and bags from the mirrors, as the internal motors / clutches resync

3) Unpark / park the mirrors normal service should be resumed.

(BTW this is done at your own risk lol )

This was the process we used to reset the mirrors we used to make for many of the large OEM's , so it should be similar
