Default ALFA SPIDER

I'm currently in the unhappy position of selling my P1 to fund my wifes buisness venture. But i am hankering after an Alfa spider either classic or new shape upto 2003. A classic is my main hankering either series 2 or 4. Anyone had any experience of these.

alfaowner is the place to look at. New shape 2.0 will munch their cambelts unless changed religiously every 36k without fail. Cam variator tends to go, but isn't too expensive to replace, the 2.0 also tend to eat rear suspension bushes and can damage the wishbones if tolerated for too long (Expensive total replacement!) although if caught early a powerflex kit will be ok. V6 has a diff rear beam design and has no rear suspension issues.
