if your in for a new one try that guy in Sheffield i was gobsmacked at what discounts he gave me on the 45, i did ask about the C43 and SLC43 but as they are both new he cant discount as much, but worth a punt if your after a new one...

Good luck exciting times when your getting a new car..

Too be honest if this SLK55 falls through for any reason then I will go for the SLC43, although it shouldn't, unless someone steals it from my grasp again.!
What I am paying for the SLK55 is not far short of the Carwow offer I got from the Sheffield dealer. SLC43 at 36.5k which is a saving of about 9.5k I think. I don't know how they do it to be honest and I am a bit sceptical but maybe it is legit.
But for me I prefer the 5.5 L engine in the SLK rather than the 3 L twin turbo in the SLC43.
Will see how it goes on Friday.

Well put a deposit down on it.
Couple of issues about the advert not being 100% true.
Wrong colour description, not metallic white but Polar white.
No Harmon Kardon sound upgrade....ffs
Anyway still having it , just 2 alloys needed scuffs sorting which are now done and a little mark painting in on front spoiler.
Does look well IMO anyway.
Away for 9 days now so pick it up in Sept all being well.

Only issue I saw, was DAD want 1000 before they tell you dealer, however it does come off price of car, but your just committing, the VW dealer they use is based in KENT.

Seems like it is not a new thing this, as I have seen the original sales invoice for the car Ive just bought and on there is a dealer contribution of £7k so why more people don't do it is probably down to not knowing.
I would now never buy a Brand new car at dealer list price.
Ive put a few pics up over on Blue Rinse world and they seem to like it...!
I will get some up on here shortly.

On a serious note (looks fantastic btw)

It looks quite small/compact - does it feel like that when driving

Ze Germans do know how to make a big car feel small imo

I seriously thought Billy Ray was some kind of country singer or line dancer or something ,hence it went over my head...lol

It actually feels quite wide when driving and there is reasonable room inside.
I think a couple of 6 footers would still be comfortable in it to be honest. Im a few inches short of 6ft....! at 5ft 7.5......
Bonnet looks long as well but it is fairly easy to drive and the wife drives it no problem, in fact so easily I cant get the keys off her..

Wanted the big engine again as I loved the CL600 a few years ago , but I don't need the 4 seats hence we went for this, as well as the much better mpg in this, although its not a real concern due to the mileage it will do.
All in all it fits the bill for us as a weekend toy and hopefully a few trips to France .

Yeah, I thought you had a big engine merc before, but glad to here the MPG is better on this

And deffo take it to France/Europe the roads are stunning - and you can really use the power

I drove a 612 across France earlier this year and you could really get a sense of the performance it was capable off (and in comfort too)

Oh and thank you Joz - yes a great film and still funny

Confession time.

I actually couldn't recall that (brief, but salient) 'memeable' scene.

(Hence the Google reference.)
