Default Help needed with bmw 330cd crankshaft pulley

Any ideas advice welcome.

On my bmw 2004 e46 330cd m sport my crankshaft pulley has gone. Split in half to be exact and need a good way of getting the rest off. It has the 4 6 sided bolts through into the crankshaft but it's an auto so can't put it in gear to stop the engine turning.

Cheers Tom.

It does amaze me sometimes how peoples first train of thought when they have an issue completely unrelated to a subaru is to post on a subaru website....

Maybe try google first of all? 2nd result for "how to remove 330CD crank pulley'

You need to either lock the flywheel normally through the starter motor hole or use an impact gun.

Last one I did, I used a 3/4 drive impact gun. Was the easiest & quickest method

Yeah thanks for your reply mate. A guy at work said this today about the impact gun. Was only a last resort posting here to be honest as doing it at home and just sourcing ideas. Trying to have as many possible ideas without trying to lock something I'm the ring gear.

Thanks for the non idiotic replies.

Cheers, Tom

Its hardly an idiotic reply.... Every idea listed here and more is on the link I posted. Try google in future it would have saved you an awful lot of time....
