Dump the Leagal Expenses Cover for starters, a bigger rip-off I have yet to see!

If they wanted to fight something in court, I can assure you, they would take the case on ..... this normally means they are fighting to not pay-out on something - why should YOU pay for something they will do for free??

My contents and buildings is £180 with Sainsbury's.

That sounds hugely expensive.

Johnny firstly join Quidco {or one of the other} then using the links to the insurers fill in their forms.

I used Quidco, took out our buildings with Co-op & contents with HSBC and in the end I got £70 & £50 back off them, so it cos tme about £100 all in.

We were with Halifax until this year and they quote 300 odd for each too in the hope they would not be questioned.

We have the legal cover.

Hasn't got a chip shop next door?

Phone Liverpool & Victoria. Should be less than half of what you are paying unless you are in dodgy area or on edge of cliff.........

Apologies for resurecting an old thread but why are L&V so cheap?
My renewal last year was extortionate with Hiscox. I got them to reduce it significantly but this year the premium is up again. I looked on confused.com and L&V have quoted a number that is about 15% of the Hiscox premium....... what is going on?

I've phoned a couple of other companies but they were not willing to quote on large/expensive houses.

Strangely enough I just re-newed my policy last week .

Last year with Allianze (not sure of spelling ) £298 building and contents .

Renewal Notice £470 ffs .No claims last 10 yrs .They had the cheek to phone and ask if I was renewing .I said where does the massive increase come from ? Last year I got a special deal !!!! was the reply .Yeh right .

Phoned around a few different ones told them my best quote was £360 .
One then gave me a quote of £570 and asked me if I would like them to arrange the cover for me "Er no ." You seem to have forgotten my best Quote Dumbass !!!!!!!

Finally got it for £343 all in .Not bad I thought for a 4 bed detached Bungalow .

Still dont know why it went up 12 % ish though .

Try Swinton Insurance. They have very good rates at the moment. Try online if you have no adverse underwriting (Underpinning or trees/water close by) as they have good discount for online customers. Car Insurance & Motor Insurance Online - Swinton.co.uk
