Amazon Drone deliveries
Couple things ,
How are they going to knock on your door, or is everything prearranged by mob phone/ computer
Secondly what if it's lashing down with rain , presumably extra plastic packaging going to landfill

I suppose they have thought this through? Health & safety issues such as drone collisions and crashes in built up areas would be a worry, people shooting them down in rural areas and pinching the payload might become a new sport, signing for delivery could be tricky too. Imagine a sky full of these things, perhaps threatening aircraft. And what a great terrorist bomb delivery system. Just a matter of time.

Amazon must think that everyone has a nice big garden or a safe place to land one of these things, how are they expecting to land one in a terrace street where their is no space outside or to someone who lives in a high rise block of flats. They'll probably want you to hang out of the window 40 storeys up in the sky to take delivery of your package.

I remember when Microsoft introduced the "internet shortcut" in Windows 98 (might have been 95)
I thought - this will never take off, no one has fast reliable broadband
only a fool pre judges the future
90 years ago the planet Pluto did not exist, just 20 odd years ago it was still a distant blur of individual pixels
yet just 20 years later we were seeing mountains on it - science and human endeavour can move at an astounding rate
Pluto in the 90's
Pluto now - 20 odd years later

well that just proves my point about pre judging the future
few people saw the dominance of the smart phone - it was sci-fi as late as the 90's
and Microsoft bid 44 billion for Yahoo just 5 years ago - now Yahoo is all but worthless

[GUARDIAN-COLUMNIST-MODE on]This is highlighting once again the widening rift between the Haves and Have-Nots in society. The wealthy few who live behind the secure walls of gated communities will be able to safely avail themselves of this latest innovation in luxury goods delivery, while the rest of us will have to make do with having our cheap knock-offs forced through the letterbox or cat-flap by a dissafected immigrant trying to raise a family of 12 on minimum wage.[GUARDIAN-COLUMNIST-MODE off]
