Default Week not going great :(

After 12 months of ups and downs with trying to sell my house we finally move tomorrow.
So far the last 24 hrs has brought me a fooked abs unit on my BM with a £2k repair bill and now the latest is the fridge freezer which is part of the sale - currently doesn't do anything in the way of cold
Onwards and upwards as they say

That's why I've never owned a BMW, everyone I know that's owned one has had some serious bills.

When **** happens to me, I just think, things can only get better.

Hope the move goes well for you and your family.

The fridge after being switched off for an hour has fixed itself! I think it may be on its way out but as long as it lasts the next 24 hours..........

The car dashboard lit up like a Christmas tree! Took it to my local Indy and that was the diagnosis The labour is only 1 hour its the part which costs

Cheers Guys

That's why I got (and so far received back about £650 worth) an extended warranty. As long as you argue on the phone come claim time and have the backing of your specialist garage.

Did cost me £750 for a clutch/dmf rhough

I've had it. 'They come in three' may be a superstitious belief, but things like that do make you think.

When my microwave suddenly broke down, I got a new one presented by my kid. But in the same week then, my fridge-freezer croaked it. I went out and bought a new one. But in next 24 hours, my stupid kettle decided to blow up! I wish it broke the same time as fridge, as it would have saved me going back to the appliance shop. But no! Thank God it was only a kettle, not a BMW. I don't have one of them.

Easy, it could all be feeling too much right now due to your longer term house sale related stress, although 2k is a lot of money to 'take it easy'. Best wishes.

What's up with the abs module? I've repaired a few on various cars due to cracked soldering. See lots of problems with electronics down to this, when they got rid of the lead in the solder it gave birth to this happening years down the line.

Dunno exactly - it's just fooked!
I've looked around and a repair doesn't seem out of the question but I'd be pretty screwed without the car if it was gonna be out of action for a time!
I looked into chopping it in but it's got new boots all round and the brakes ain't so old and a few days after a not so cheap 4 wheel alignment has just made me bite the bullet.
I have bigger things in life to worry about so I'm just building a bridge and getting over it

I would have to be minted not to try to avoid a 2k ABS repair. I fixed my VANOS for the cost of some solder and brake cleaner. £2k seems to be main dealer standard fluff for this sort of thing.

Had exactly the same ABS module fault on my Freelander 2 last week . . . just as I was moving house and returning from holiday. £1900 bill. Luckily took out a warranty with Warranty Direct that covered it. If it is driveable I would look at a repair - that's what I would have done had it not been for the insurance. Good luck sorting it.
