Default memory loss......

Why is it that a 'PIN' number i have had for years has suddenly been erased from my mind..???

I have used it time and time again for years, spur of the moment times, or when slightly drunk....ish - no problems

Now, its gone - and I can't for the life of me get it back from the old grey matter

I seem to forget things all the time in the past 5 years. I'd like to put it down to "getting older" but the amount of times I have forgotten a word/phrase/name of someone makes me think it's not just old age. I tried an online test recently to make sure I didn't have some kind of alzheimer's and I'm happy to report I passed it totally fine, so I have just put it down to the years of Stella abuse

No point worrying about it though What was I saying?

Freud's parapraxes...basically a 'slip' of the mind.

Sometimes we don't want to remember things.

Happend to me about a year ago, just enjoy the fact that it saves you some money until you get a new card and pin from the bank.

When you either remember it or get a new one, send me all the details and I will store them securely for you, while you are at it maybe send all you log in details and passwords too.

thanks

Happened to me in France. I racked my brains, then selected my french one, whose number I could remember.

As I was about to key it in, the old one popped back into my mind.

Stop TRYING to remember...it may then come back.

Where bank cards are concerned, I set all of mine to the same PIN for this exact reason.

Time for a tattoo perhaps!!!!

I used to pride myself on always being able to remember a name and put faces to names, its an important thing to me, particularly in business. I am finding that my instant recall is not what it used to be.

I had a few medical issues last year. I wasn't sure wether my meory loss was due to the ilness or a side effect of the medication i was taking but... well... put simply...

- forgetting how to get home from work
- forgetting why i'm phoning someone
- forgetting a conversation half way through it
-not remembering what i done the day before

It was more annoying than anything else.

Did you also forget that you posted that very same comment last night?

Felix, have you tried just going back to a cash machine since you forgot your pin? Perhaps if you try to put it out of your mind, then just go to a machine, it may just come back to you (pretty much what Alcazar said).

Plenty of supplements available to support neurological health, and potentially aid memory, such as choline etc - might be worth looking into if things are really bad!
