Hi Guys,
First of all, please accept my apologies for our spurious site performance since the upgrade. For those of you whom don't know, we have moved servers, upgraded software and added a whole host of new features to the forum in the past few weeks but unfortunately, some of the old legacy code is conflicting somewhere and causing some speed issues.

Added to this, we also have an issue with some users internet networks not being able to access some icons on our content server, so we have three choices at the moment.

1) Disable the content serving to give us the RTM and REPLY icons back, but take a huge speed hit.

2) Leave it active whilst we investigate the problems making speed a little better.

3) Take SN Offline completely.

I have opted for option 2, so if you have the RT and Reply icons missing, I appologise, they will hopefully be back very soon.

For those of you posting in a very negative manner about the recent changes, please bear in mind that for SN to continue to exist safely the old software had to go as did many of its customisations because a site of this size needs to be able to take security updates as and when they are released and the old system quite simply could not. Scoobynet was also terribly slow before the change and some of the templates we have yet to fix are still causing issues. They will be fixed, but as with anything, it will take a little time as we have a lot of other things to do too. Behind the scenes the team have fixed in excess of 30 problems since the upgrade alone. Sometimes, speed is not the biggest issue.


Please be assured that one way or another all problems will be rectified. Its virtually impossible to migrate a site of this magnitude without issues and whilst yes, we have had problems, we haven't had any major downtime, so please at least enjoy that fact. Ive known forums this size be off for weeks when trying to upgrade old heavily customised legacy code such as SN.

Remember, IB paid good money for this site, and have just moved it over to a very expensive server. Its performance is dire and nobody is happy about it, but be assured that when the solution comes it will have been worth a week or two of reduced performance as it will be far faster than it has ever been before, but with all its new features such as photo album, user garage, iTrader etc... We are not just going to say "Sod the users" as some of you seem to be insinuating.

Thanks for your patience, I know your frustated but we will get it up to speed just as soon as we can.
