Will give them a call Ta
I went for a non return as well. No hardship in emptying it once a year maybe. As it does about 3000 miles a year anyway
Hose lengths. I was looking at 5 meters of each, 12mm and 15/16mm. Am I looking at way too much and if so how much you reckon? tank will either go where the gap is next to the air box or opposite side near nattery attached to the fan belt cover.

You seem dead set on using braided hose so I'll give you a vital tip...
Get the catch can fitted first of all. Once fitted measure the exact lengths of hose you require, remembering you need one from each rocker cover and one from the crank case near the turbo.
Once you have these measurements ask the company you are getting it from to cut it to those lengths.
Braided hose is a **** to cut neatly unless you've got the right equipment.
I still can't see how you can get decent quality braided hose cheaper than silicone. I must be looking in the wrong places

Find out the measurement of the crank case breather, the one on mine is bigger than 15/16mm.
Excuse the cheap pipe work to the catch can, I wasn't forking out 20-30 quid on silicon hose to then cut a length too short. It's due to be replaced, and re-routed.
Catch can is on the NS strut tower.

I'm not sure, is vacuum hose even available in the sizes required?
The cheap shite that I've used is fish tank hose, IIRC. It's discoloured a bit, due to the oil and heat, other than that it's fine. Vac pipe might well be fine in that case.
RE the vent, I just ran mine down the chassis towards the back of the car, didn't bother with a filter.

Yes you can get vacuum hose in big sizes, however from my experience with larger diameter vacuum hose it has a tendency to kink when routing it around the bay, even more so when it gets hot. You're best off using something with a thicker wall.

I will get a breather filter for the top I think
It looks like I will probably be going for the clear braided hose. Maybe if the car behaves (for once) I will treat it later down the line

That'll be plenty. The old adage of buy cheap buy twice, doesn't really apply here.
I'm sure most people would rather chop a metre of £2 hose too short than a metre of £20 hose.

Measure twice and cut once. Like i said earlier, fit the can in its final position before ordering hose. You can then use a tape measure to work out the exact lengths (a paper tape measure is ideal). I've been there and done it with doing things on the cheap and I've got 3 meters of braided hose and 3 meters of cheap vacuum hose in the garage somewhere from past catch can experiences

I went for a cheap ebay catch can on my v1 sti and plumbed it in with "ash" hoses it's only a 2 port but the filter outlet is the same dia as the ports , so I originally intended on fitting the 3rd breather to the filter outlet .
I ended up "T" ing the cam breathers together to retain the filter as I was unsure if the breather system should be sealed , deleting the charcoal canister and fitting a v3 /v4 icv (to reroute it's pipework) so I could remove all the excessive pipework under the inlet manifold
Only issue I've had is the occasional wiff of oil in the cabin due to the position of the can (near the heater intake under the windscreen)

I cut the cheap crap too short on the first pipe.
Mine will get re-done when the manifold gets rotated. I'm planning on moving the catch can anyway, as it was an early one from Rich and doesn't have a sight tube on it.

I was thinking WTF!?! until I looked closely, and noticed in the text that you had fitted the later ICV.

Yeah the v3/v4 icv is the same as the v1/v2 apart from the direction of the take off pipe and fitting that allowed me to totally remove all pipework under the inlet ,well all pipework bar one tank ventilation pipe which now vents under the d/s front inner wing .
Don't mean to hijack but does anybody run a sealed catch can that doesn't return to sump and if so any pressure issues ?
As I might either relocate the catch can away from the heater intake or use the filter exit off the catch can as the 3rd port and tidy the pipework up a bit
