Default Blob Widetrack road car turning track focused.....

Well its about time I introduced myself on here. Picked up my first Impreza 2 months ago.

Its a 2005 Impreza WRX STi Type UK Widetrack which came with the PPP pack.

Once I got the car home I checked underneath and found it had a lovely 3" turbo back Mongoose exhaust rather than the PPP system. Also had a crap Bailey DV which was ruining the car.

After a few days I found when left out overnight it was taking a while to start - starter running but not engaging correctly. Big thanks to Mattybr5@MB Developments on here for sorting a replacement as well as various other pieces over the last 6 weeks.

I quickly fitted the starter motor but now car wouldn't start at all?! Checked replacement starter and was perfect. Time to strip down the car....

I am good friends with Mick at MB Motorsport so he got the lovely job of stripping everything down and a quick phone call to Scoobyclinic had an Exedy Pink box clutch kit & 6.7kg flywheel. The replacement starter also went on. Didnt expect to find the outer ring gear on the flywheel to have come off though - first for me and Mick:

After it was all put back together and clutch bedded in I was quite enjoying using it but still ordering parts haha.

Since the clutch was bedded in the following were added:

- STi JDM front strut brace
- Perrin short ram intake
- Perrin boost solenoid
- GFB 50/50 DV
- Custom mapping session from Scoobyclinic

This saw 333bhp & 345Ib/ft - car drives so much better now and so smooth.

Started tweaking a few exterior bits:

- Private plate transferred on
- Headlights detangoed & smoked
- Carbon exhaust trim
- Boot debadged
- Hella Supertone horns
- Replaced crap front mudflaps to replacements same as rear
- Pink front grill badge

Just had my shiney new BC racing coilovers delivered ready to go on as well as a spare set of wheels which are going off for a repaint in anthracite.

I did indeed matey, had a prefacelift ST with 360bhp & 435Ib/ft. Need to get the Impreza faster as the ST would have killed it through the mid range haha.

The Impreza should turn out well if the Focus is anything to go by!

Haha - it might do but its a quick little motor. Went to get it with him last year when he was 18 and it is brilliant - 4 pot brakes, coilovers and plenty other nice little bits.

I am near Peterlee on the coast of County Durham.

Cheers for the compliments on the ST. Like playing about with my cars so they are great all rounder's that look pretty decent still.

Since I sold the ST I haven't been able to settle on a car - had a Clio 172, 2 182's, Sierra XR4x4 and a few others as well. Think the Impreza is a keeper though

Well spent some time on the Impreza over the last few weeks.

Got a Cusco rear chassis brace and brackets to fit my RB320 diffuser:

The coilovers went on at MB Motorsport and am playing around with the settings before it goes into Revolution for its alignment:

Well I ended up with another set of wheels - I wasn't happy with the 17" standard wheels in any colour so managed to sourced some of my favourite wheels:

18x8" ET45 Oz Superleggera's - they came with 245/40/18 Pirelli's but these are to tight to use so have ordered 235/40/18 Yokohama AD08R tyres and new carbon OZ centre caps so once they are repainted in anthracite they will look superb.

Some snaps of how it sat on the 245 tyres:

Size: 78.9 KB
Name: untitled-9_zps805daeef.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 54.1 KB

I also played on photoshop before deciding on the colour.....

Standard silver:

Name: untitled-2_zps47f62bb1.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 67.5 KB

Gold with carbon centre caps & black wheels nuts:

Name: Wheelplaygold_zps1beff904.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 67.1 KB

Anthracite with carbon centre caps & black wheel nuts:

Name: Wheelplay_zps219c096a.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 66.1 KB

Will lift the suspension very slightly then get the cars alignment setup at Revolution.

Also waiting for new brakes to arrive, got the following on order:

- Performance Friction front discs
- DS2500 front pads
- Godspeed rear discs
- DS2500 rear pads
- Goodridge stainless brakelines
- Uprated brake fluid

Then its back to looking at increasing the power!

I was leaning towards gold but the brakes don't really stand out so thought anthracite would still look good and get the brakes to stand out.

I bought it mainly as its the best way to mount the rear diffuser rather than drilling holes in the spare wheel well. Also has the benefit of stiffening up the rear slightly.

Thought would update this as car has progressed nicely.......

Well between then and now the following has happened:

Then started freshening the engine bay up:

- Carbonmods belt cover
- Rallytech bolt kit
- STi accessory oil cap
- FAKE, USELESS CRAP accessory header tank cap
- Perrin battery strap
- Mishimoto radiator brackets
- SCR branded slam panel

That crappy header tank cap turned out to be a fake and resulted in this:

Name: DSC_2683_zps703ba6f8.jpg
Views: 0
Size: 45.5 KB

Resulted in over pressure in the coolant system and popped top radiator hose somehow.

Picked car backup yesterday from MB Motorsport after having following work done:

- CDF Racing anti lift kit
- CDF Racing drop links front and rear
- Ultra Racing 23mm front ARB
- Ultra Racing 22mm rear ARB
- Performance Friction 2 piece front discs
- Godspeed grooved rear discs
- DS2500 pads front and rear
- Goodridge phantom stainless brake lines
- Motul RBF brake fluid
- HKS oil filter
- Mobil 10w60 motorsport oil
- Subaru fuel filter
- Wrinkle finish header tank
- Samco radiator hose kit
- New coolant

As always MB Motorsport did the business and car is back to full awesomeness!

Apologies for crap last few pics but these were off my phone.

Monday sees the car go into AK Automotive (Sideways Dan off here) for full alignment then its getting mileage on brakes ready for some abuse.

These also arrived today ready for when I go for more power, RCM unequal stainless headers and venturi up pipe, welds are beautiful on them as well!
