Default Hawkeyes Sidelight Problem

Hi everyone,

Both of my sidelights have gone, and the headlight auto adjuster orange light has come on.

I came to change the sidelights, but when I got to the existing ones, there seems to be no way of getting the bulb out of the bulb holder.

Do I have to change the bulb holder itself?

Many Thanks, Adam

Can't comment on the auto-adjuster, but it seems to be a common design fault...the adjusters are prone to water/dirt ingress and fail They aren't cheap either.

As for bulbs, can you post a pic?

Get it hosted on something like Photobucket, then post the url into the box that opens when you click image.

The sidelight bulbs Slide into the holder. They should just pull out.

Hi there,

Thanks for your replies.

That's what I had thought too, but it looks like this bulb is soldered into the bulb holder!

That's not the sidelight bulb - looks more like the dipped beam bulb ^^

If you're changing the dipped beam then bulb and holder are one item ... HB3 (if I remember correctly).

As above, that's a halogen HB3. It comes complete with bulb holder.

Also it's around 55W, so certainly NOT sidelight...which is generally 5W.

Hi there,

I just checked and they were my full beam bulbs!

I didn't see the sidelight bulbs hidden at the top there.

Thanks very much for your help.

All sorted.

Many Thanks, Adam
