I have just removed some window film from my rear window, which has left really bad glue marks. I have tried tar and glue, but it was taking ages! Any other ideas????

Steve.

Use a window-scraper which has a razor blade in it. You can get 'em from DIY places and stuff, cost a couple of quid. You can then scrape the stuff off very easily.

If you can't find a proper scraper, just get some proper razor blades and wrap the back of one (VERY VERY VERY carefully) in masking tape. As long as you're careful, that'll be okay too.

Happy scraping

Steve,
the obvious error in the above comments is that your rear window demistor element will be damaged by a razor - Try a high content petroleum based spirit - Petrol is obviously exreme however this does work (personal experience), as long as you clean the window with some cleaner then you won't be left with the smell.

Okay - good point - didn't think about the rear screen. But then, I'd hope there would be _some_ common sense here....?

Thanks guys! I'll try some petrol since nothing else seems to work.

Cheers,

Steve.

steve,
try warming it up (hair-dryer !?). makes glue go soft, and shud be easier to remove.
