gauge has two lower plug sockets obviously for meter /daisy chain wires.
am i right in saying the top sockets is so you can plug sensor lead directly into gauge rather than controller. and which is best plug sensor into controller or gauge? cheers.

Top socket is for the optional, larger warning light. Senders have to be connected to the control unit.

As above. Daisy chain wires are available online as spares, and longer ones too, up to 2 metres iirc.

Oil pressure and oil temperature are good. I also have fuel pressure, (which can be linked to the boost gauge to give differential pressure, ie: pressure above boost), and an accurate water temperature, since the one in the car is awful.

yeah thinking oil and water temp ideally. oil temp to let you know when playtime begins
and water temp for safety.
had oil temp and pressure and boost in last 2 cars and find oil pressure gauge just makes you paranoid. have oil press sensors go on 2 cars and the event certainly loosens the bowels
find you are constantly watching and once its registered a problem probably too late anyway.

Your choice. Oil pressure gauge is one I wouldn't be without.
