Apple car play
I fitted a Pioneer Apple Car Play headunit yesterday and it's awesome.
You loose the ability to play cd's but seeing as all my music in now on my phone it makes good sense.
Google maps works like a sat nav and is very accurate with the included gps antenna.
Also can send and receive texts via voice activation, make receive calls, audio streaming with album art ect.
Its like having a tablet in the dash so far I'm very impressed...

I have the same head unit and I love it.
Very fluid and easy to use. However it could do with a firm ware update. On ios7 you could use dash command and had more app capability I have a DAB app that works very well though.
The fact you can use mirror link for android devices is pretty awesome.
I have thought about the reverse camera too

Yeah still plays conventional radio, plenty of USB ports too. I spent years with cables adaptors, *** lighter sockets trying to integrate my iPhone's but this is turn it on plug it in done totally seamless.

I generally use TomTom on my phone for nav, does MirrorLink mean that you could get that app to show on the screen? I was looking at the Parrot one because that can get the app itself but if MirrorLink works that way then that's even better.

Nope I have my iPhone 6 plunged in using the everything provided in the box. You can either use bluetooth or use your I phone 5 cable to plug into the usb connection provided. I installed it into my centre console storage box.

It's a app that should be able to work with CarPlay, like a few others (DASH COMMAND!!), but I suppose they have to work with Apple to get it on there.

Moving from a 4s plus having the cable for the 4s i do use dashcommand and now have a 6 its rather expensive to change cable to the lightening adapter. Is dashcommand included in the car play. If not i will use the 4s cable and buy the converter adapter and see if it works that way
