So am I right in thinking the 'original' P1 springs is not going to happen? (The P11's?)

Surprisingly, no.

Minimum P1 order was originally 25.
P1 springs get made, only, with the say so of the original designer. He personally authorised a run of 15 - still, not enough names came forward.

Spring and bump stop design/materials moves on, the P11L's are 1340 grams lighter, in total, and can accommodate more strut length variations.

Old P1 springs have probably sagged, to the front height of the P11L's.
So far, 3 P1's are going to try out P11L's. The lower front ride height should benefit turn-in.

Make sure you get the cone washers, cone side up.

http://www.dirtyimpreza.com/forums/s...cal-Washer-FAQ

Make sure you get the 3 holes on the front, upper spring perch, facing to the outside of the car.
The outer, middle of the 3 holes, should line up, vertically, in-between the two lower strut mounting brackets.

Lastly, there are 3 small, semi-circular notches cut in the rear, upper spring perches.

Looking at the rear perch, with the middle notch in the in the 6 O'clock position, the notch to the left should line up, vertically, in-between the two lower strut mounting brackets, when fitting the left-hand strut.

Conversely, the notch to the right, of the middle notch, should line up, vertically, in-between the two lower strut mounting brackets, when fitting the right-hand strut.

That's left and right as if you were sitting in the car.

Rear right strut - 4WR (right) notch lined up correctly:

Springs arrived today… in Los Angeles.

Will be some time before they are fitted and test driven as the car is not a runner at the moment.

Inverted or twin-tube dampers, for the bump stops?
They are supposedly due, at Eibach Uk, the end of May.

The length, rate and engagement of the bump stops is very important.

http://www.modified.com/tech/modp-11...mp-stops-here/

For the P11L's and WR15R/T's, given their ride heights and rates, you're going to need revised bump stops - whether that be be inverted or twin-tube.

The kits should also move the car's balance, to less understeer, without the need for a larger rear bar.

If anyone was interested in the stance on the P11-L here is a couple of pics of my P1 on them (1/2 tank of fuel, standard inverted dampers)

Thanks TB.

For all those who will hopefully take images, of their cars, with the P11L springs - if you could use a 70-80mm lens setting, for side-on views, with your digital devices. It will help reduce wheel arch distortions, giving a better idea of the arch gaps.
Or, stand much further back, then enlarge car section of the image.
Level of fuel in the tank and strut type will really help.
And, ideally, include the measurements from wheel centre, vertically up to the arch.

Many thanks to you all

Mark

If the springs are truly linear, that would give you an idea.
Often they're two-stage. An initial soft rate, changing to the operational rate at the ride height. So, you'd have to compress it, from the ride height to an inch lower.
If they're progressive springs, you need a very expensive machine.

Aren't there any names/numbers on the springs?

By the way, your GAB struts are re-badged agx's

Have a new pair of inverted P1 front legs, am after a pair (or very good used to be rebuilt if it can still be done) for the back of my UK V5 now, any leads on new or aftermarket rears greatly appreciated.

How do I put my name down for a set of these spring and what is the expected ride height change from standard UK car?

Hi

I thought they were still available new, under the P1 part numbers?

20360FA950 or 20360FA951 rh rear

20360FA960 or 20360FA961 lh rear

A group buy for inverted, front and rear, dampers here. You have to join the site to view:

http://www.p1woc.co.uk/forums/showth...0fa950&page=12

Which spring are you considering P11L or WR15R/T?
