Default new and a few problems

just bought myself a scooby and have a few problems


car is fine in first and second gear, but when i go into 3rd and get high in the revs the car seems to lose power and hold back and back fire, the car has been modded

Front mounted intercooler
Decat
Dumpvalve


been to local garage and they say i need a new ecu and a remap as my car has old ecu (M Reg)

any help would be great

sounds like it aint been mapped for the mod's that are on it, or more likely the MAF

how much would a decent ecu and map cost?

depends on age. later ones can be mapped, early ones you're looking at a thousand quid really.

edit: re-read post properly lol. Power FC is nudgin a thousand quid with mapping, you can get chips that would be suitable for your mods for perhaps a tenth of that but no flexibility to upgrade further though (can't use larger injectors is the main limiting factor).

been told i can get a ecu and a map for £600 is it worth it you think

i dont know its from a garage in preston that specilise in scoobys
