Engine problem???
I'm going to try and explain this the best i can so please bere with me....
My scooby's a 95 WRX with no mods other than a Magnex backbox.
When accelerating the engine seems to not want to rev past 2.5 to 3K...not that it won't but my old scooby used to beg to be driven on boost. The engine also 'Roars' when the revs go higher but not in a good way more like it's sort of straining to rev like it's being held back or chocked but it still goes quick enough.I havn't got a boost gauge yet so i can't check wether it's hitting peak boost or not.Plugs have been done also and i've fitted a new panel filter but not a performance one. Also reset the ECU.
Don't get me wrong i still love driving my car but because of these faults it's making cruising around a bit of a chore and i keep thinking it's not well
I had an oil leak from the crank side which has now been sorted so when it was done i topped up the oil.I think i might have overfilled it a tad so do you think i have clogged somthing or have i really fuked somthing up? Oh and i've used standard Castrol modern engine oil.I used a fancy part synthetic in my old WRX and it never liked it at all because of the higher mileage and sounded a lot noisier and tappety so i'm staying clear of it with this car.
Any ideas guys???

Do a search for boost solenoids on here and you should find instructions on cleaning it. due to the overfilling of the oil you may have clogged it up. Just a thought.

Thanks mate will try that!
Thing is aswell my old scoobs selenoid used to click like a lunatic but my one now just clicks once or twice???!! Was thinking because of the differences beetween the 94 and 95 engines.

Cleaned out the solenoid today and now it clicks like mad!!
Car seems to boost a whole lot better but the noisyness is still there.Especially when decelerating like when changing down to come to a corner it roars it's head off like it's being strained.
