the wrx (5 speed gearbox) has the td04

the wrx sti (6 speed box) has the vf35

if your car has the red inlet manifold/blue seats/sti logo on the intercooler and the 6 speed box then you will have or should have the vf35 turbo

why..............for the love of all things holy has it got the 5 speed box fitted?

surely if it has the 5 speed with matching diff that the rear brakes would have to be changed from gold brembos to wrx calipers?

When i bought the car it had the brembo calipers on and was obviously only touching half the disk with the wrx disks been smaller so had to change the rears, got the car cheap so was not too fused about it having the different box in

This was doing the rounds by me in Dorset last year, it was advertised on ebay for strong money considering the 6 speed box has been robbed from it.

I am looking at putting another 6 speed in it but while the box is still good i don't see the point in changing it

Maybe because a 5 speed devalues the car somewhat and won't take the abuse a 6 speed will.

I'd be double checking what turbo is on their by looking at it first. Does chassis no and reg line up with Sti?

Seems very odd to effectively take an Sti and put a WRX gearbox and brake discs on? Makes more sense that someone's put a few Sti bits on a WRX. Don't think I've seen a UK Sti in white either, you got any more pics?

Yes mate I paid for a hpi check on the car before I bought it with it having a 5 speed box it is deffinetly a sti and i had never seen a white on that's one of the main reasons I went for it

Your 2002 STi came with a VF30.

The odds on having a genuine actuator issue is slim to none
