Default VF34 reconditioning?

Hi lads and ladies just got a VF34 off a fellow SN member and although I'm sure it will be perfectly OK, I was thinking about maybe getting it reconned before I fit it. Any idea who could do this and cost? I'm in Manchester if that helps.
Also can anything be done to improve it from stock other than a recon?
Cheers Lee

Hey bud

The turbo was collected today by parcelforce, Should be with you soon hopefully.

Pretty sure there's a company that can refurbish them, dont see how there to much different from a TD series.

I drove the car with this turbo on, boosted well and didn't show any sign's of damage.

Worth giving Alyn@AS performance a shout or even RA motorsport might be able to help

I've been told they cannot be rebuilt as the bearings are not available to buy , just been down this road trying to sort the VF22 turbo on my rally car , bought a brand new one in the end , AET got two of them from Japan for me

Cheers bud just sent you a PM before I seen this lol,
Like I say I've got.no doubt it's perfectly fine, but if I can improve it before it goes on even better.

I used to run the VF34 turbo on my old clubman Gp N rally car , even with an aggressive anti lag it didn't give us any problems

rebuild kits are on ebay : http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/like/32181...13=80&ff14=108 i have a vf35 and im planning on getting the kit and try to get it fitted. just to say tho that the vf34 is a roller bearing turbo so might not be repairable

as said the VF34 is a good reliable turbo, I had one for years and then sold it on and it continued to perform. Unless there are reasons for concern I would install and run it.
However, TurboTechnics in Northampton, 01604 705050 do the refurbished VF34 on an exchange basis and also run an inspection and repair service, so would be worth contacting if there are any future problems. They have a website.

This is handy thank you, there's no concern no its just one of those "while it's out I'll just....." kind of things lol
