A freind recently bought a 27mm whiteline anti roll bar for his impreza but sold car before he got round to fitting. He has given me the antiroll bar but im unsure if its worth fitting as iv read it might be a little too stiff also i will need to buy uprated mounts.

27mm will be very difficult on the road, probably dangerous, stick it on the bay and get yourself some "normal" uprated ones as they do help the car a lot.

Solid drop links all round.
PROPER geometry setup.

Cheers local specialist said i can run the 27mm but may lift a wheel on hard cornering. He runs a 27mm on rear of his road legal track car. On the look out now for rear droplinks and uprated arbs and strut braces

Who has told you that?
27 is FAR too stiff for roads and wont react well with the soft front.
Your car, your decisions, but You've alteady had same advice on here and then asked at a specialist.

Thats y i put im looking for uprated arbs im going to get 22/24mm front and rear arbs the 27mm will be on ebay at somepoint

I can't disagree with any of this.

I have an adjustable 22-24mm rear and I recently set it to 24mm to see how it was on my Classic. It's ok but can feel very hard on bumpy roads. If I wasn't such a lazy bugger I'd put it back to 23mm.

A 27mm will in my opinion be too much on a road car.

I'm probably asking for a backlash here but hey ho ......its my experience..

I've a 27mm rear (on softest setting) on my 04WRX. I would not suggest this as an 'only mod', however.....

I also have a 24mm front, plenty of poly bushing, HD drop links all around and TienS lowered springs.....

Now the car is on rails!
a) Yes its stiff (it was stiffer anyway with the lowered springs).....
b) Yes this is definitely not a set-up to be rag up a farmers driveway
c) Yes i look to dodge big pot holes (does anyone actually aim for them)...
d) but hell, get it on a reasonable B-road and its awesome (and measurably quicker cornering)....

Getting on a reasonable B road is the hard thing
Guess you get way with it by having also a heavy front ARB,as the front one 'kind of' cancels out the back one

precisely you need that F/R balance.

Have only uprated the rear ARB and solid links on previous scoobs (22mm adjustable)
Found with it on mid setting it gave me a very good balance (felt like 51% rear/49% front).
The 2 digrees negative geo played a big part too.
Theres no bigger bang for buck than a ARB and good geo set up

Cheers for the advice iv done front droplinks to whiteline heavy duty and car is on tein lowering springs 30 r 40mm and i miss pot holes like the plague now and i do plenty of b road bashing on way to and from work. If i do 24mm front arb and rear heavyduty droplinks and geo setup would ve worth just testing the 27mm arb as it will save me 150 if it works also is it worth doing the arb rear mounts
