Default help on a new age sti

Bought a limited edition sti 06 plate when I first started to drive it was sweet but then I put petrol in and it started spluttering I was told that the car is completely standard so has not been mapped but then was told by a specialist that if I put the standard petrol in once mapped it could cause it to splutter and that I need to put v power in which I have done but it still splutters.
So is there any way I could tell if my car has been mapped?
Or any advice on what else it could be? I'm

All sti's should be driven on the best fuel you can buy, I would always suggest a 99ron, any photos?

You guys are lucky, over here in NI we dont have anything like v power or tesco 99. All we have is super which is supposed to be 97 ron but in all honestly I doubt its even that high.

In that case you need bottles of octane booster at every fill up or to get your car mapped for lower octane fuel.
