Default Ver5 fuel ventilation help

Hello, I noted recently a petrol odor. Upon inspection I have a line running from the front charcoal canister that sits behind the drivers head lamp to underneath the car exiting near the rear transmission cross member. The line appears to have broken there. Where does this connect to? I am in the USA so I have very little support documentation available on a UK spec car.

That's on a V5? as in 1999 car? usually they just vent in the bay and don't run underneath like that.
